OOOOH I love the Micro Uniball Air!! It's a great pen. I used to have one in red too, but lost that one. The black one is great for writing on almost any paper.

I used to be a fountain pen lover and collector years and years ago but then started writing more on my computer, and my pens got gifted or put away. It is good to incorporate fountain pens back into my writing and multi-media art practices. Thanks, Kiala. 🥰

My very favorite pen is my TWSBI Go with a 1.1 stub nib. It has a unique and easy to use spring mechanism for filling. It has a little plastic loop on the cap that I like to hang a charm on. The nib is so smooth! I have the clear demonstrator and I always keep it inked with one of my two favorite inks, Lamy Vibrant Pink or PenBBS Rose. The TWSBI Go is not expensive, it’s reliable, and fun to use. I couldn’t ask for anything more💕

Thank you Kiala for this series, I love fountain pens and I am on a new mission to collect more! My favorite pen is from King Dollar that I found, it doesn’t have a name brand, I wish I would have bought 20 of them, I use sepia ink cartridges and use it every day! I’m interested in the swan pen! Blessings!🙏🏽💓

I remember a Papermate ballpoint pen I had in grade school. It was agua, white and silver. Possible a Ladies' Capri I loved doing penmanship in class and it fit my hand perfectly. It was my first 'pen' love.

I use a Monte Blanc ballpoint when I’m writing letters etc. I actually found the pen and I consider myself quite lucky because I would never be able to afford one. It was a pen/pencil set in a leather case that I found. 😍

My mother died when I was 15. She ALWAYS wrote with a fountain pen. I have the pen she always used. It is a Parker with a refillable cartridge. Unfortunately, I cannot get it to write smoothly. It skips part of the letters. It has been 50 yrs since her death so it could be dry rotted or something. I have tried to find a fountain pen for my personal use but I always tire of having to keep ‘shaking’ the ink down so that it will write well. The ones I have tried are super cheap ones so that could be the problem. Where do you get those pens? Thank you for doing this series!
@KialaGivehand

Hi Ja14803. I'm so sorry you lost your mom at such a young age. Having her Parker fountain pen for 50 years makes it a beautiful heirloom and vintage pen. It's not "rotted" but it probably does have crusty old ink in it. There are lots of "nibmeisters" who could help you get it back to working order. Some who specialize in Parkers. Sounds like you have found the right pens. You should NOT have to keep "shaking" the ink down so that they will write well. A good fountain pen with a clear feed and nib will flow without you having to shake the ink down. When that happens, it's like that the ink is almost at the end, the feed or nib is gunked up, OR the pen is defective somehow. Yes and some of the super cheap pens can be problematic. I'm doing this series to show you some of the ones that I think are good for beginners and also affordable for most wallets. Thanks for watching and I'm so happy you are here for the journey.
