Wtf man??!! So did any of those brainiacs have some sort of guilt for releasing a literal animal when they had him right there pleading for help??!! My lord!! Cole may have had a high IQ however he only got away with his crimes by chance, luck and shitty police work not because he was “smarter” than anyone else…
@jackdaniels7934

I didn’t know Coles case and found it tragic but fascinating. At first he was truly looking for help but was turned away by lazy apathetic people (my interpretation on it). He eventually stopped caring or trying and was resigned to whatever happened, it doesn’t sound like he ever tried with everything he has to avoid detection. Luck and poor work seems to be the greatest reason for the duration he got away with it. Cole never really applied himself it sounds based on that, just like in school where he got bad grades despite that. It really doesn’t matter how High your IQ is, especially if you don’t use it. It just measure your ability to take in information, understand it, and apply it in a practical way. Essentially it’s your potential.

They're ridiculous. According to a test I took in the Military; I have an IQ of 180, genius IQ apparently. Now, I know genius does not exist, it's just what lazy people call those that work hard and if I were given a different test, because the question would be different so would the results. One test would say "genius" but another could just as likely say that I have mental development problems. It's like if I tested you on something that you have experience and knowledge in and I also test you on something you know nothing about the results to both tests would be very different.

The terrifying thing about Ed Kemper is just how friendly and charming he comes across. There is also a false dichotomy of how he talks about such horrible crimes, yet he uses such refined vocabulary, the kind that my deeply religious grandmother would have used. I've listened to a number of his interviews, but I don't remember more than 1 cuss word. he was so friendly, in fact, that at one point the prison guards started trusting him way too much (BIG mistake!). According to one police officer who interviewed Kemper, the guards left him there alone, locked in a cell (without his service pistol) with a 6 ft 9 convicted serial killer who had nothing left to lose. Kemper said to him "You know, If I went apeshit in here, you would be in a lot of trouble, wouldn't you. I could screw off your head, place it on this table, and have you looking at the guard when he comes in here". A minute later, the stupid guards finally came back for him. Ed smiled and said to him "I was just joking". The officer said that he visited Ed a few more times, but he ALWAYS had a fellow officer with him from that point forward.
@bettycrispy397

That is terrifying. Regardless of his size, you can see how easy it was for women to trust him. It’s scary. I’m so glad he will stay behind bars for awhile, since his parole was revoked. In the first case(s) of Carroll :Eddy" Cole, I can easily see a coroner making mistakes, much less likely from a medical examiner. An ME holds two degrees; a medical degree being one. On the other hand a coroner needs no college degree, just a high school degree or a GED, and they are elected into the position. This could explain how signs of strangulation were missed. The women were brought in as untimely deaths, not suspected homicide victims. So it is likely that a coroner handled the autopsies.

I'm editing this to provide more context to my original (and apparently totally misunderstood initial statement). I'm not a "fan" of Ed Kemper, nor do I "idolize" him. When I say, "He's the best," I mean that in terms of not just his intelligence level, but on his _intellectual_ level. A person can be smart as a whip, but completely unintelligible to the average person (think of a Nobel-winning scientist). Mr. Kemper is distinctive amongst serial killers because of his ability to carry on conversations with interviewers without resorting to uncalled-for profanity or nonsensical hijinks. That's it. That's what I mean. ===== OMG, Ed Kemper is the best. He's so full of self-insight, he's well-spoken, he even seems genuinely remorseful. His crimes were hideous, but I can't think of any other killer I'd want to interview.
@JasonSmith-eu4ng

I agree out of all the SK’s I have ever heard about Ed stands in a class of his own, it’s crazy how he talks about his most disgusting moments, and during this you are thinking he seems like a ok guy. It’s spooky that if he was a neighbor or something you wouldn’t even consider he is a killer, he just doesn’t put off that sick vibe. , he is either very very intelligent and has his motives and true self hidden perfectly, or he just broke badly and went totally insane. If he hadn’t turned himself in, he would have probably never been caught. Even after calling the police and confessing the police still didn’t want to believe it.

Ed is fascinating to listen to, if his life had a different path who knows what he would've become! Having listened to his interviews many times the only true remorse he has for any of his victims is for the young girl Aiko Koo, that said, Ed Kemper is a genius and has fooled far more intelligent people than I could ever claim to be. He isn't under any delusion of what he is and had the foresight to give himself up realising he'd never change. My mind is bewildered at what the body count could have been if he hadn't taken such action.

@alexandergreenfield91
2 ай бұрын
It really isn't meaningless. And although not perfect a well designed iq test very specifically measures a person's ability to find the most efficient solution to a problem and indeed the solution. Which is incredibly useful to know. I think a far more pertinent point would be the apparent drop off in relative performance of those with IQs in the unusually intelligent to genius level in today's society. As performance appears to improve very much proportionally and linearly upto that stage....
