The Transalta Trail is an easy to moderate trail in Alberta, Canada. This exercise was done in a Honda Pilot Touring 4WD with stock suspension and tires. The VTM-4 lock was used in places where a slip was detected - steep inclines with loose rocks, slick muddy slopes, places with deep excavations or climbing out of water bodies.
VTM-4 lock, when engaged in Low Gear, splits power 50-50 between the front and the rear axles, and then with a set of clutch packs, tries to mimic a rear differential which is found on more capable vehicles like the Jeep Wrangler.
I understand that more capable vehicles like Jeeps, FJs etc can do these trails much more easily, but this video has been made just for fun. I would appreciate if people stick to enjoying the terrain and not concentrate on word bashing.
Cheers and thanks for watching!
