So many flashbacks watching the parts rundown. Back when, we didn't run 90/10 shocks, we would take worn out ones and mount those (poor man's solution to the problem). Like others have written, watching Mr McGean, Mr Musto, and Mr Nevison and his team work is like a hat trick of talent. And 306 HP?! I was guessing 285 - that's a bump! Thank you as always ~ Chuck

@nathant3897which is a garbage move. Nothing wrong with a LS in a GM, great engine. You don’t need a Coyote either. A 351W with pistons, rods and good heads is going to do anything a LS will. Even though I’m a Mopar guy, I worked for a well known Ford shop that has but a slew of 7, 8, 9 and 10 second Fords. All Ford powered.

I installed this kit (circa 1996) into my 88 Saleen at the time. The engine was already upgraded with all the goodies available in that era. It made 603hp and was an animal with 13lb of boost. The original mounting plates and hardware were inadequate for the loads placed on them and belt slippage or poor alignment was an issue under load. Lack of traction was the biggest obstacle to overcome. Looks like a fun build!

Would be cool if production on these series actually had a nod to the period they are capturing. I see the titles try, but these shows are so slow, maybe some of the music and editing style of the late 80's and early 90's could have made these pop a bit more.

"Today you would do a ls with twin turbos...." no you would not, you would do a gen 3 coyote?!? the AOD!? back in the day they were swapping in T5s right away so they could do clutchdrops, Keeping it the way it would have been back in the day, lets drop in a modern $5000 rear end....but we did not have enough cash to paint a hoodscoop.....Sir you and I remember "back in the day with no money" very differently!!

We didn't put it on the scales, but stock weight on a 5.0L hatch is around 3,200 lbs, so it's a pretty light car to begin with. With over 300 hp at the wheels it downright boogies!

McGean has to stop with the LS nonsense. A 351 with good AFR heads makes every bit the power any LS build does. Period. I’m a Mopar guy so that’s not a fanboy response. I worked for JBA Speed Shop and have seen it done over and over. Pushing LS swaps into other makes because Holley and other companies are invested is just wrong.
