Thanks! I was working on the rough cut of the window trim restoration video today actually, so hopefully I will have that out soon. Summer is short here, and VERY busy which always puts me behind on this stuff.

I'm a lot behind with the video editing, but I can tell you the car has turned out well. Stay tuned for the details of each component of the trim restoration, and thanks for watching!

great stuff, love this build.Question would you run 20w50 in a stock foxbody with minor upgrades exhaust etc.

No. 10W30 is the right oil for virtually every 302/5.0 Ford. Usually when I see someone running 20W50 I assume the engine has poor bearing clearance and they are trying to compensate for that. I run Mobil1 10W30 in my 9000 RPM drag car too.

As far as the 1/4 window trim, any advice on how to preserve original trim that is in good condition before they get to the point of having to replace? My car is garage kept, but I still want it to look good for a long time.

Keeping it out of the sun is the number one thing you can do. I’m not sure what to suggest in the way of products. Detailing it with Meguiars #40 or Mothers Back to Black won’t hurt, and waxing it with a “dry clear” wax like Meguiars ultimate liquid wax probably helps too.

SEM trim black is the go to for most of this black trim. LMR sells kits for the various trim areas that typically need restoring or you can buy the parts al-a-carte.

My son and I are about to embark on a very similar project on his driveway find 1993 LX 5.0 hatchback. I'll be interested in seeing what you do and how it turns out. Some people try to restore parts versus those who replace. I guess it comes down to time and money, as with any project.

I have actually finished most of the project and it turned out great. If you follow @tecmotiondyno on Instagram there are up to the minute pics of the car, but I will be posting the process on here which is a combination of new parts and restoration of existing parts. Stay tuned!
