I flew with them to Ukraine and assembled them in my friend's Kitchen workshop in Kharkiv. Drone effort on a government level was pretty bad until this year. It was frustrating to hear how Sternenko continuously talked about fpv drones and others didn't. Everything was done with private funding and no one was willing to talk about the problems. I tried to ask other youtubers to interview him or just repeat what he says. Of course no one was interested. Denys Davydov was the first one who began to relay Serhii's messsage in last December. About the same time government informed how they start delivering fpv drones. Your video was a great addition to the few that talk about the subject in a practical level.

Speaking for my community in the Ag industry the biggest hurdle in the way of ramping up production of propellant and explosives are farmers. The same chemical companies that produce nitrate explosives produce nitrate fertilizer for crops. If they want to increase production of explosives they can’t raise the price of fertilizer to offset production costs because farmers are the biggest lobbying group in government and their entire existence depends on government subsidies in order to stay profitable. It’s just a shame that the same subsidies that allow farmers to continue their businesses aren’t applied to munition production especially now when there’s a war that needs fighting.

Although I agree that the war in Ukraine is important, I'd argue it's best to avoid a famine by limiting the production/use of fertilizer. The cost of fertilizer (and food) has most definitely been impacted by this dual need for nitrate, it's either doubled or tripled(?).
@spaz_matic
3 ай бұрын
@@Jell0zz I strongly disagree. Corn is the biggest cash crop in the US by a wide margin attributing to 30% of all crops grown. Over 40% of that corn is not used as food for humans or for animal feed. It’s turned into ethanol. How much nitrate fertilizer should we waste on making ethanol which doesn’t do anything other than pad the pockets of farmers? Ethanol costs more to produce both in terms of manufacturing as well as carbon emissions compared to fossil fuels. 10% of the nitrate fertilizer consumption of the US should be redirected from farmers to the munitions industry. There will not be a famine just some angry farmers that aren’t getting as much government cheese for their wasteful crops.

As someone who practically lived in Shenzhen pre-COVID, I can confirm what Brandon said re: production. This is how large scale FATP is done. The line takes several days (sometimes weeks) to set up and only volume justifies this expense. Therefore, everything is done in batches, with the exception of the very high volume product lines at Foxcon/Apple, Xiaomi etc. It is absolutely critical to have home-grown FPV designs with vertical control of production. Instead of relying on a Chinese vendor for fully assembled 5.8GHz VTX circuits, for instance, it would be better to have a proven design with components sourced entirely in the West even if it was slightly larger in size and more expensive. The ability to build the circuit in dozens of locations on demand would make supply more predictable, not to mention the technological advantage of not being limited to commercial ISM frequencies that every jammer knows about.

Yes! You know how it is in Shenzen!! You’ve been to those market places, where it’s like a bar and he works his square. I remember doing everything with a calculator and hand signs back then. Great place and memories for me 12 years ago but that was then. We need home production. Just in time production failed during corona and it will fail in total war. That area I’m talking about is Howchinbay?? What about the expat corner? Is the irish pub and the and the Thai restaurant still there? There used to be a bar upstairs near the irish bar a Scotsman ran. He had Tracy Chapman your so vain playing like every second song. Thanks for taking me back to my twenties mate! ❤

The main chip that performs the video signal modulation appears to be a Taiwanese product. So to me that is normally western enough, but may need a rethink. What surprised me is that it is still using FM modulation which is spectrally inefficient. Most camera sensors provide you with mpeg output nowadays so this could be transported with a modern digital modulation scheme. Using 5.8GHz seems also not great. Of the cuff I could only suggest WLAN or LTE however, maybe people thought this was too much effort.
