I was in the second year of college but I could afford being an exchange student to study German language even though I was encouraged to do so because of my grades. I love that place Lily . I went there with my husband once amidst some family issues and they kept calling for us to come home they were so jealous that we had time alone. He promised to purchased an apartment for me there. But fate had its own plans. He passed away 2013. Leaving me overwhelmed with real life to deal with . To date I am struggling and time is fleeting but God has a plan for me so I need to hear him and act accordingly that is all. I have something in mind along the line of what your Mom is doing . But i have no idea where the resources is going come from either . I can start very small online and now that too has its challenges. But it is the best for me until I see growth. I would like to expand to support the local market.

Just listening to you say the dates you traveled to Europe triggered my memories of 9/11. I am a New Yorker and it was an extremely tense and traumatic time for most of us. Though many people not living in NY but in the states didn’t feel it the same way. I can’t imagine being so far away from loved ones and not being able to communicate with your loved ones back home. It’s a joy to watch the interaction between you and you Mom and your son. You Mom was obviously a very strong woman. Be well and stay safe.

Speaking of trauma, if you know the history of Sarah Baartman and how she was treated in Europe, you will realise how offensive and distasteful that sculpture of a melanated woman in that hotel room is. All my three daughters went to AFS as exchanged students in Finland, Norway, and France. The youngest, who went to France, had to take some French language courses as pre-requisite. She had was the only one who had a difficult time and had to change the host family. I really felt sorry for her but couldn’t help so much, only contacted the coordinators here in Thailand. Anyway, she got along with her host sister and the latter wanted to visit us in Thailand and staying at our house. Due to the pandemic, things were delayed. Anyway, I just want to say that sending all my children to a different countries, difficult cultures, was the best decision that we did.

I have learned it again from the language application on my phone. I love this moment the same as you. Some day I inspired to enroll as an undergraduate degree within my country in the French major to be the second bachelor degree. Actually, I graduated already but I would like to study the second one to respond to my aspiration deeply. It looks waste time to take time studying but I still think over it again and again. If I had a choice more than the mentioned above, I would pursue the master degree but it may be in abroad to explore my experiences like you if I have an opportunity to grasp this. To Be honest , you look like princess Kate of Wales in some sides of your appearances. 😊 Will Anyone agree with me that you are similar to Princess Kate ? Please Share your ideas true or false?

Like most countries, each state/constitution/area have their own way/law of being. I personally, would not like to stay in Paris, just driving through ( many times) is enough to give an indication it's quite different culturally from where I live in the countryside in the South of France. England is quite different from France, also. Susan.

Well Lilly, you must have benefitted from your exchange program, because you speak French fluently, and not only that, but you speak it with a perfect French accent. You are so beautiful, that it is hard to imagine that underlying that beauty, you have so many emotional, and probably a few mental problems, but take it slowly, and be true to yourself, and in time you will improve. I was on the Isle of Wight when the planes hit the twin towers, and I was terrified when 2 weeks later, I had to fly back to NYC all by myself.

Wow. Interesting perspective from 9-11, have never considered til now. Sorry you experienced that on your own. + the other stuff. Pretty traumatic to me but the idea of being a foreign exchange student is awesome. When I was young, parents offered but I was too shy and could not imagine, so I passed on it. Regret. You were brave.
