Princess Diana was given a top level welcome on her trip to Paris.
She arrived at the Elysee Palace for tea with France's First Lady - Madame Bernadette Chirac.
The Princess looked relaxed as she strolled through the palace grounds accompanied by her French hosts.
President Jacques Chirac took time out from a busy schedule to meet Diana.
Later, the President and Madame Chirac accompanied the princess on a V-I-P viewing of an exhibition of paintings by French master Cezanne.
The Cezanne retrospective at the Grand Palais is said to be a definitive exhibition of the work by one of the greatest artists of the last 100 years.
It was red-carpet treatment for the princess, who was feted at every turn.
