Not exactly, she had an affair with Julius Caesar for a time, but after Julius Caesar was assassinated Augustus Caesar took power. Marc Antony, who had basically moved to Egypt because he loved cleopatra, also part of the Roman elite, was accused of being a traitor to Rome and trying to make Rome part of the Egyptian empire and it was Augustus who eventually kidnapped her after the Augustus army was successful against marc Antonys loyalists mixed with Egypt in the battle of actium. Cleopatra and Marc Antony fled this battle and Antony committed suicide and cleopatra was eventually captured and killed herself in captivity

The cheetahs line explaination via genius......It is rumored that the historical Cleopatra kept cheetahs as pets. During the hook, the implication is that a thief has taken Cleopatra. Cheetahs would be a play on bloodhounds on the trail of a runaway criminal. Imagine loyal cheetahs trying to locate their stolen master. “Cheetah” may also serve as a near-homophone for “cheater”, which touches on the issues of sex, love, and betrayal that run throughout the song There is also a well-known chain of strip clubs called Cheetahs, which comes into play later in the song

As soon as they hear Frank, their levels of interest perk up immediately cuz it's not a guitar riff or a drum beat. Today you earned a subscriber. I never seen your videos before, but I was listening to Frank ocean this morning as I always do, and ran across this gem. At 9:00 minutes, you made this black woman living in diaspora proud, and a fan. You understood, even from across the pond. Thank you for saying it.

It's 2019 and this is still one of my favorite songs of all time. I actually just discovered your channel by looking this song up. Frank Ocean does such a good job with his imagery, every time I listen to this it's like watching a movie play out in my head. I'm glad you guys decided to look up the song lyrics and meaning, I think that's one of the best parts.
