1978 and the beginning of his voice returning. He soon will be back in the studio in ‘79 recording Trilogy and N.Y. New York. From 1980 through the mid ‘80’s Frank gave us some truly great concerts. Fun years for Sinatraphiles…

This is one of those concerts you just have to watch over and over and over. The class, excellence of Frank and the orchestra's performance are stellar above proper wording. Thanks so much for finding, and posting this. Does my soul so much good, but makes me sad of what we've lost too.

A massive thanks to Timeless Music Hits for posting this video. Seeing the Great Sinatra at his peak performing at Caesars Palace was fantastic. Seeing a Sinatra concert in its entirety was an added bonus. The comedian who was the warm-up guy before Frank Sinatra was hilarious.

Do you happen to know who the man is that Frank was talking to backstage, and took a picture with him? He had a mustache, looked like he could've been a boxer. I can't find this information anywhere.

Frank gets good after the first drink. He smokes a cigarette, makes fun of Italians, slaps the music director on the back, calls the bassist a "pickpocket", and improvises a lot of the lyrics. Classic.

This is an exceptional video. About as up close and personal as could be imagined. I had the honour of seeing Frank's very last London show at the Royal 'Francis' Albert Hall. Literally, the final night with the British PM in the audience. A night I doubt I'll ever forget, but also, I got to interview Vincent Falcone in Las Vegas. He and Sinatra were an almost accidental pairing. He had become the house pianist at Caesars in about '77, I think, and rather than bring in his own man, he reckoned a good Italian musician like himself would be as good as anyone. He was spot on. Sinatra would have his moods, but when it came to the music, he knew when he had a good thing with his sidemen he could rely on them. The best exposition of this video is the sheer joy of Sinatra the artist. He simply loved his craft.

It´s all about loving american style- just go to an other box : Charles Trenet. I liked FS as most do, but here in this performance it is all about doing the same thing with the same jokes with the same voice in the same perfect style. I´m an old crack and through all those years I got closer to the central point- where is the human point, the clou ?
@taf44tt8io
15 күн бұрын
Swing style had spread worlwide, mostly in Europe during and after WW II were Charles Trenet in France or Renato Carosone in Italy, had been inspired by the syncopated rhythym that gave more pep to their romantic melodies. Among some famous tunes we have "Autumn Leaves" or "Beyonf the sea". Sinatra made what some other great artists did, I mean give to the audience what the audience wait for. So Rolling Stones, had sung thousands of times SATISFACTION or ANGIE. Still, other, like Miles Davis, never put their shoes in the same footprints. About the human point, maybe read some philosopher could help rather than listen a crooner. It could have a particular sound and silence. 🙂
