Very cool to see Danny and Steve Bartek together as older men now, doing their no doubt arduous but thrilling day job, together with Tim Burton.

According to the "Music" section in the description, it's called "Alternate Main Titles." The title is self-explanatory.

lol the conductor.. most pointless job in music. Nobody's look at him they're looking at what they're doing or playing. Waving a stick up and down really doesn't make a difference.

Actually, that's not how it works. Players got their notesheets to look at, when for example seperate orchestral sections blends in, the conductor shows the tempo with his baton (which is kind of not really needed as the players has tempo clicks in their headsets, it helps the conductor though) and dictates how the players in the specific section is expected to emote/inplay and how they should play as a whole. It could be he'd want a soft inplay of horns, or a fast, quick and agressive inplay of brass. There are limitless ways to how they should play a section, based not only on the conductor but notes from the composer etc. Notesheets can't portrai all emotions, remember the orchestra doesn't even have time to practice. Players cannot be constantly looking at the conductor, it is usually percieved by quick looks for reference. It's also to let the players pretty much not having to remember these things when things get busy.

Find some videos of orchestras playing the same piece, but with different conductors. There is a difference. Notation by itself sounds a bit rubbish, robotic and empty - think about an electronic voice reader reading a novel. Now imagine a classically trained actor reading the same story, interpreting the words and putting their own spin on it. Now imagine fifty actors doing the same thing - it would be a mess with stresses put on different words and the like. Conductors control the creativity.

@@nigelproctor i just remember that situation when the conductor passed out on stage and they just kept playing.. without a single fault or miss step.. kinda proving you don't really need a conductor. It's one of those jobs they want to think is vital but in reality the players know what they're doing anyway.

Are you seriously basing your idea on the necessity of conductors on one time when a conductor passed out? The orchestra had probably rehearsed with the conductor enough times that they were prepared for the occasion, not that it was in their control, but like they say, "the show must go on." The conductor has to have a better understanding of music than anyone else. He or she tells what section of the orchestra to play at what time, when to start and stop, and overall convey how the piece should be played through gesture, transmitting the intended message and/or emotion. And conductors are still more important than people who laugh at them for how "pointless" they are.

@@ignaciocue Basically the conductor is a time keeper.. and that appears to be their only function, making sure all sections play at the correct time, keeps track of time so they don't have to. Well that's a fair enough role but don't play it out to be any more than it is.
