Wasn't much banter going on between Phil's team and the host but that was usually the case. He was always a selfish captain and non-team player with not many jokes. Off the top of my head I can't think of any time his team had any chemistry or rapport on his team. The other side had 3 or 4 permanent different captains throughout and they all had episodes with team chemistry.

Yep, I agree. Was it the team members being intimidated by Phil's gruff temperament? He just doesn't seem like a welcoming captain.
@redditbanditvideos7585
3 жыл бұрын
@@afischer8327 I think it was a combination of him being gruff and not wanting to be outdone. The problem with that though was that he barely ever shined and if a team member did start to formulate a joke he'd jump on it often and finish it for them. In the majority of episodes the only focus on his team was when they were matter of factly answering the questions. It'd be interesting for someone to do an analysis of screen time per episode of his team and the opposing team. I'd bet money there wasn't a single episode in which his team had more screen time. That's probably why Phil's team were always given the more low key and boring guests in the end because the team knew about him. But then why was he continuously employed? Have you ever seen him on Would I lie to you? One of the most cringeworthy performances. No idea where he came from or why he was on the BBC gravy train, but I'm not ever gonna google such a mess. I assume he must be a paedo and connected. Can't think of any other explanation.
