My only 2 hw owc loses are too these spamming types. So frustrating to lose to people who are using cheap tactics. Thanks for the videos man.

I always find against straight spammers that baiting them to throw attacks by coming forward and head movement work best - also getting as close as possible so the straight is easier to parry - Great video dude

Yeah, head movement is something that for me, works awesome once they got some stamina burned off (they are out of the 100-90% stamina range, they are at 70% -80% somewhere around there) Initially, the straight is so fast, powerful and accurate it's very hard when they are really fresh. Yeah adding the bob n weave or pull counter is a great way to make them quit too. Works great just like you said. And like you said, get close! You can't run from these guys. You will loose because you're helping them spam you by GIVING them extension. Moving back is like saying "hey, come spam me more efficiently" . One of the many broken things with the straight is no need for extension. Like you say, it does help a lot because you're smothering them, IMO it's complete BS how they have the straight so fast and powerful with ZERO extension. I've shown that in other vids too, it's complete BS. Yeah bro, head movement and staying close is very , very , very important and helps a lot.

Awesome man. Yeah, it's actually very simple. Hit them under their straights for the first half of the fight then once they tired start going for the head late fight. Going southpaw vs orthodox and visa versa is the key. The body shots under their straights in the correct stance will work almost everytime. You just gotta let rounds pass so those body shots kick in and they will start fading late fight so you can ko them. After that learning to avoid push straights and stepback straights then you're golden.

I can make one. That would be cool. I'm working on a bunch of projects so it's been a while since I have played, trying to make time and should be on hopefully this weekend. My active gamer tag on xbox is burnbullets. Would love to play with others, I play for fun too. I don't get all serious or whacked out in the head about it 👍

What’s your character fighting style, speed ? Roy jones type ?
@dequanjabooty7379
Жыл бұрын
I use different styles. Mostly Power, Chavez, Foreman or Tyson. Usually I throw a lot of body punches, try to fight inside and not many straights to the head so I use the slugger types mostly. When watching the preview before picking your style when building a boxer if it shows a lot of straights or jabs (like Ali, Klitchko etc) it seems to me, I could be wrong, that their body punch power is a little weaker. That's just how it seems to me, perhaps I wrong. But I like the styles that allow you to lunge inside fast because I use short characters for the stronger body punching. For example, Tyson style has a thing where if you throw a jab to head, uppercut to body, your character will travel a long distance very fast to get close to the opponent. Frazier is a slugger style too but his lunging body punches kind of suck so I don't use him. If I build a guy to just box I'd use Ali, or speed. If I had a boxer-puncher I'd use Roy Jones style, he has a good straight and some lunging body hook.

@@dequanjabooty7379 What are you doing when you punch to give it so much steam? For instance the punch at 1:02, did you do something with the left trigger before punching?

@@Ahrbok Good eye! Notice I just walked backwards for a few seconds. Imagine there is a third short term stamina bar. As you punch this bar goes lower and lower so your punches get slow and weaker as the bar goes down. So lets say we throw a 8 punch combo, the last 4 punches get weaker and weaker because the short term stamina bar is low from throwing the 8 punches. If we start throwing immediately after that combo the punches will be slow and weak because the short term stamina is low. If we walk around for 5-10 seconds without punching our short term stamina bar will raise and raise until it's full again. What I did was walk backwards so the short term stamina bar refilled then I also stepped to the right then threw the punch. So the short term stamina bar was up plus since I knew he was throwing the straight I stepped out side of it for a little more power. So it was a combo of short term stamina being high and stepping outside of his straight. I forgot what vides they are in but I show stepping punches. They can't be abused or they will gas you but they do add power if done once in a while when your opponent is throwing at the same time. I think the stepping punches are in Body punching video or the Brawling Basics video.

@@Ahrbok Ok the stepping for more power is in this video. See the caption and punches at 6:09 If they are southpaw we step left, if they are orthodox we step right. Step by flicking the left stick to make your character dash then immediately punch. We want to visualize our front stepping outside of their front foot. In the game it doesn't always have the animation correct but your punch will land harder. It's very important to not abuse that mechanic as it will gas you out if you do. Use it maybe 5 times per round.

@@dequanjabooty7379 Yeah, im good with the stamina management, its not as clear that they weaken with low short term stamina, but i figured it worked like that. Ive also seen your side stepping video and understand those mechanics as well. Im pretty good at the game, i can beat spammers sim boxing, but sometimes it seems like people do a weird flick with the left joystick for more power. Or sometimes I'll see you throw body hook head hook combo and it seems to do more damage than mine, that's why im wondering if youre doing some form of left trigger and left joystick sway before punching. You're so mechanically good. Would you be down to spar?

What growth do you have your hooks to the body on?
@dequanjabooty7379
2 жыл бұрын
For me, I a brawler with short reach (67 -69 inch as heavyweight) so I usually have them at 20 (maxed out). When you create inside fighter or brawler a maxed hook takes up 3,300 XP points. To maximize the straight or jab costs 7,900 points (I think about that maybe a little more, maybe little less) So instead of maximizing 1 straight or jab I can maximize 2 hooks and part of another punch. So I usually max my body hooks and head hooks instead of a straight. I leave straight very low so I can have more hooks/uppercuts. So yes, usually level 20 on all hooks is what I do. Plus most people throw many, many maximized straights so now I have the hooks to counter them.

Yeah that's a great punch to use. Many people throw the side step uppercut to head but going to body is much better IMO. Slows them down much faster. Plus, if you have some stats on the body uppercut you can use it against the guys using the philly shell. The power body uppercut will break through the philly shell most of the time even if they're blocking. Also for closing distance the body uppercut is awesome. You can use a jab then body uppercut to close in from far away. Additionally, the lunging body uppercut is probably the safest lunging punch to use, throwing a lunging uppercut to head just leaves you wide open, body uppercut will usually counter whatever they're going to try. Many people that only use the uppercut to head don't get those added features. Very smart to do what you do.

Yeah, that works good too. I should have put in there. LX Sniper has an excellent video on that , Fight Nights Finest has a video too, I recommended both of those. The only thing I don't care for with the side step upper to the head as much is a few things. 1.Because we're going to the head the opp has a few more rounds of going crazy with straights. Sure we score better but he's still spamming away for a few more rounds super fast.( like with chicken wings very, very fast) 2. That's a lot of controller inputs to do perfectly every time. For me personally it would be hard to adjust to throwing super rapid side step uppercuts. (Flick the left stick , flick the right stick, block ; flick the left stick, flick the right stick , block again and so on. For me, doing that set of sequences rapidly over and over would be hard, probably for new people too. IMO just throwing the low hook is simpler and gasses the opp faster) 3. Style integration. I personally (again, the steppercut method is awesome too) like using the body punch because it's already levelled up and part of my style. For a brawler or inside fighter the uppercut to head is about 5000-6000 points. The chance of getting a spammer as an opp is very high so I'd have to forgo levelling some of my body punches just to have a powerful uppercut to use vs a spammer. For me, that would cause a style change. (Which is fine too) But yeah, there are some other great methods out there. LX Sniper has a awesome video showing the steppercut like you mentioned. Now that you brought it up, I'm going to link to his video so people have another alternative. Great input bro!

Ye, I know but LX doesn't play owc(though fnf does). And you're among the few to use such a short fighter, both in reach and height. I play owc in ps3 and use similar style, inside not brawler. Congrats on the good work you're doing... PS: I'm probably the last spammer punisher on ps3, and if not the last, for sure the most effective, lol.

@@alingrecu1317 Awesome man! Yeah it's rare to see shorter characters. I am seeing a few more recently though. I'm not sure if it was you or another person but I got link to a video of a PS3 player that was an animal using shorter reach punishing a spammer on the PS3. The side step uppercut like you said is very effective and now that I think about it, most people probably won't have leveled up body hooks, more likely have uppercut to head leveled. I should probably make a part 2 and point to LX's video for that. I didn't explain the actual punch stats etc. My favorite fights to watch are people just going in a wrecking spammers. I love seeing those 6'8 Tyson build guys running away and getting beat down. There's a guy named Krushner on youtube, he's got a lot of great fights like that. I think people really like to see different things, the standard fights posted are all the same; hundreds and hundreds of straights over and over. It's played out. Keep it up and maybe if you have time even post some fights, people would love it.

Ye, you're 100 percent right. I don't know the video you're talking about, I'd appreciate if you'd send me a link to it. FNC on PS3 is almost dead, 180 players online as I'm writing this comment, and maybe 30 in game players. I've played this since 2014 and been smashing so called "elite" players since 2016. Most.of them are playing the exact same style, fight stats being dominated by straights and uppercuts, all to the head, no body punching, no hooks, no jabs, nothing... 6,8 260 88 reach and 6'2 160 82 reach in mw. It's sad all this exploiting, always looking ftw, not having fun playing. So I enjoy what's left of it, punishing spammers, abusers and trash talkers... Kepp up the good work.
