The greatest running gag throughout the run of "Frasier" -- all the funnier for remaining unspoken -- was that these two utterly hopeless neurotics, who at times were flirting with the outer borders of clinical insanity, got paid huge sums of money to help other people address THEIR problems. (This episode is one of my favorites. Niles' heartfelt "Frasier, be my eyes", as if this were "A Patch of Blue" or "Johnny Belinda", is beyond praise.)

NOTHING at ALL wrong with so-called elitism, it's how the ambitious and aspirational, who provide top class goods and services, at higher prices, earn part or all of their living. I can't think of any modern comedy show that has such a diverse group of characters that Frasier does. Frasier, Niles, Daphne, Martin, Roz, Bebe, Bulldog, Noel, Gil, Kenny even Eddie lol are such vastly different people with such distinct senses of humor that the writers gave them that's so different from each other yet it works so perfectly. You could cover the names of the characters on a script and you'd know who was saying what.
