Incredible how humane Frazier was. After the monster left in the 4th, he stopped punching at Jerry to see if he'd fall over and all but gave him a second to recover. Then, before the fight ended and Jerry was badly cut, Joe pointed at Jerry for Joe Louis to see, and walked away like he didn't want to punch him any more, knowing Jerry would never, ever quit.

The brother-in-law said he has grown to hate boxing - not surprising, after what happened to Jerry & Mike. The Shepherd here is Jesus. John 10:11 “I am the good shepherd. The good shepherd lays down his life for the sheep. This is the fulfillment of the prophecy. Matthew 26:31 Then Jesus told them, “This very night you will all fall away on account of me, for it is written: “’I will strike the shepherd, and the sheep of the flock will be scattered.’ This happened near 30 AD. Hosea 6:1-2 Come, let us return to the LORD. He has torn us to pieces but he will heal us; he has injured us but he will bind up our wounds. After two days he will revive us; on the third day he will restore us, that we may live in his presence. In prophecies 1day is equal to 1000 years. Which means after two thousand years Jesus will return again. And on the third day which is the 3rd millennium, we will live in his sight. We all know we cannot see God's face and live on Earth. So it's the second coming of Jesus. Luke 21:11 ► There will be great earthquakes, famines and pestilences in various places, and fearful events and great signs from heaven. Matthew 24:6 You will hear of wars and rumors of wars, but see to it that you are not alarmed. Such things must happen, but the end is still to come. We are the witnesses of all these things. From the death of Jesus to 2030 there are 2000 years. Jesus is coming soon. Let's all repent and turn from our old ways and turn to the Lord. Praise the Lord. Peace and Love to you all Easter is pagan, the resurrection day of the Lord is correct and please stop taking the Lord's name in vain like saying omg or using it with a bad word or taking it in anyway that is in vain. Even the devil trembles in his name and we shouldn't use the powerful name like that. For the people who says Jesus is not God here's a verse. Isaiah 9:6 For to us a child is born, to us a son is given, and the government will be on his shoulders. And he will be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace. They later became friends again but perhaps that hadn't happened yet as of this fight. As for Ali beating Louis, perhaps that could happen. Ali was fast, smart and durable, but to think Louis would be too slow to catch Ali is somewhat false because Henry Cooper and Chuvalo were catching up to him, and they are not faster nor better than Joe. This is the prophecy about the second coming of Jesus Zechariah 13:7 “Awake, sword, against my shepherd, against the man who is close to me!” declares the LORD Almighty. “Strike the shepherd, and the sheep will be scattered, and I will turn my hand against the little ones. God bless you all. Please spread this message to the ends of the 🌍

In my opinion Jerry deliberately hit low at 15:45. He was way past his best and knew he was gone.

Stupid refereeing by Joe Louis. Former boxers are the worst referees who think fighters should just keep slugging it out until one person drops.

But what else can you expect? Stick a human in a jungle and eventually they'll start living like animals.Joe had obviously become desensitised to the violence.

In Joe Louis' day, that's what would happen. They let guys continue as long as you could stand. By the 1970s, people had come, slightly, more to their senses. In Louis' day, if you wanted to fight 30 times per year, that was cool. Times have changed.

Joe Louis was inept in this fight. Allowed JQ to take waaaaay too much punishment. I love how angelo Dundee barks at Louis to "Move outta the way" and "work the other side of the ring." The legendary Don Dunfee screaming at Loius to stop the fight. How does a drug addict (heroine) like Joe Louis get a job as a ref in a fight where a fighter could die. He surely wasn't sanctioned, that would take work ethic and commitment.

If louis stopped the fight sooner everyone would say he unfairly favored the black man.

@@carloshenriquethomaz2578 Er....Ah.....Quarry was unable to defend himself. Joe Louis just a druggie at this point of his life. Race has nothing to do with it. It's a sport and it's a job. You gotta be qualified to ref a fight where a man can die. Joe Louis cannot ref.

Quarry bounced on the balls of his feet too much - the problem with that you can't set yourself quickly to punch - Frazier knew that & was able to time Quarry every time he bounced. Much better to slide or step around, but don't bounce.

Same reason why Ali had so much trouble with Frazier.

That was my observation also. He tended to throw round shots when he stopped bouncing instead of sliding, keeping his hands up and converting them to straight shots. Quarry's defense was also very poor as he tended to stand in front of opponents with his hands down. He couldn't get away from that against top notch opponents.

I wouldn’t say he has no skills, because he wouldn’t have gotten as far as he did; however, I will say that like most professional athletes that he had weaknesses in his game. Who in the 90s didn’t have weaknesses and could beat him?

Quarry’s family should have done everything possible to get him out of boxing after the first Frazier fight.

Usually, it's the athlete that is last to notice. He struggles in ways, again and again, that used to be unthinkable. Believing, if he just trains harder, longer or changes diet, that "it" will come back; that he, once again, will be the best version of himself. Meanwhile, even those closest to him can see the inexorable erosion, but lack the nerve or heart to speak it. For they, too, are dreamers.
