Me and my family are just become homeless due to the flood waters in California. We were even on the news our places under 4 feet of water and wash the way we’re starting over from scratch. I’m learning so much as i can videos how to be safe and where to go we are going to be BLM hoppers trying to save money and starting over My mom is 85 years old cancer so thank you for these videos. Seem like a lot of people in these videos are nice gives me hope. Will be OK.

You sure have a lot of problems. You're homeless because of drug addiction. Go to slab city. They have drugs there.

5:26 - The reason for some of those people with a lot of stuff is because not all of it is BLM Land. Some is private property, thats why you saw Private Property Signs all over. I own 2.5 Acres in that area, you could see it in your video for a sec. But it is zoned (RC) Resource Conservation. So you can only create a private recreational campsite for personal use, not commercial. Most of the campers in the area don't bother to check the boundaries and parcel maps. all the ones at the entrance are privately owned lots. But unfortunately lots of squatters and homeless people out there like shown in your video. The ones with the fenced in lots actually own the property where they live. BLM doesnt start until a few blocks past the solar farm. Your campsite was not on BLM Land on that corner by the solar farm. Those are not access roads, just roads people made over the years. BLM Land starts East of Cascade and Sunflower Rd.

Enjoying your videos and subscribed. A lot of good info.. One question, what is the name of the paved road you turned off of? Thanks.

Thank you so much for doing this! My long time dream of moving to JT from Pennsylvania has been squelched by the insane RE market. So I am moving to vanlife fulltime later this year. This video has shown me that my Joshua Tree dream is still alive, just will look a little different.

This free boondocking location truly is an economical way to visit Joshua Tree National Park and the town of Joshua Tree has all the resupply services needed. Lou

Good video. A couple of those areas look sketchy. I wouldn’t have walked up to that one area you did as they’ve been there a long time. Probably nice people but…..

Thanks again, both of you. I google earthed it as I always do. The images must have been taken during Cov because there is not a camper in sight.

My wife and me are full time RV travelers and just spent two weeks there. It was quiet and Beautiful. The only downside to me is the dust created there. Just remember that you will be doing a cleaning during and after.

Thanks for the video. I had heard about BLM near Joshua Tree but I don't know exactly where it was. What is the best way to find it.

Grid coordinates are in the written video description on KZitem. Just copy the coordinates into Google Maps and hit enter. This camping area is much better than the BLM Joshua Tree South free camping area. Lou

Cool lookin' place to camp. Man talk about some wide open spaces....its hard for me to imagine such a large (treeless) area !! Seems like quite a few campers out there. Im with you, looks like alot of those people have over extended their stay. That would be really nasty to think about. What are they doing with their ...waste....garbage? How far is the nearest town? For all the folks that want to use it in the correct manner, how do you report people that are abusing the area? No one should be able to do that. And what about the wild animals that call that place home. Are they getting into , and eating things that are harmful to them? Nice spot Lou, but they shouldnt be allowed to do that. Its such a beautiful area too. Nice video !! Happy Trails Vicky

Just a little bit of active law enforcement on the part of the BLM would go a long way toward reducing overstays on our public lands. Having to respond to a federal citation in federal magistrate court is not a fun process.

Won’t be staying there because it doesn’t look like there is any Enforcement of the rules! Perfect example of why BLM Areas are being closed to camping.

I’m guessing BLM let the rules slide during the height of the pandemic but I hope they have since gone in and removed the squatters.
