At 1:41 on the right page seems like they offered swiss wrist watch known as the Jump hour. Its the only watch to have held its value as much as the Copal clocks and maybe one of the Timex watches too. Amazing ad finds

I would’ve loved getting a free Panasonic flip clock! I have 2 of the RC 1122 ones mentioned.

Yeah. No one was giving me a flip clock in the 1970s. I can tell you that. That’s why I turned out this way.

How much of a killer deal was it? As in, was depositing $5 grand worth it for a clock?

Booming 80s I guess. In contrast banks in my area gave an extra $300 (subject to tax) due to an investment book and/or a $200 apple product.

Only if you were going to deposit it anyway.

That Elgin W225 is HIDEOUS. Purple and white is AMAZING. I collect Alarm Clocks and the original black is HIDEOUS. No flip clock in my collection right now, but I do have one of the rotating tile ones.

Not sure. All I remember is that some teachers thought its was the end of the world as we knew it. They were sure we’d never learn to tell time on a clock with hands.
