It's great to see that people are permitted to define the structure of their relationships in some countries. As long as no ones rights are violated, it would be nice to see individuals defining the terms and structure of their relationship here. It is unfortunate that the US still imposes restrictions on something so fundamentally personal and private. I doubt that we'll be seeing paperwork with multiple lines for "spouse" any time in the near future.

Matriarch is the form of ancient society. Look at elephant herd, lion herd.. females are the strongest of all. female bears are the strongest. In China, most ethnic groups are name after their elegant, ancient, beautiful, batik, embroidery clothes... these clothes are made only by women. There are still some matriarchal society around the world - oceania, some pacific islander groups.

Monogamy isnt natural. I think people need to realise that sex and love can be a mixture but can ALSO be a totally seperate entity altogether. I have experienced threesomes and dabbled in swinging when I was married. I think it takes a certain kind of understanding,love and open minded person to truly have a successful open relationship. With all the relgious handicaps that so many are hung up with..it is hard for most to accept anything but monogamy. Monogamy doesnt exactly have a good record.

Something I'm curious about is what happens when the matriarch of a family dies? I would assume the eldest daughter takes over as the new matriarch? What about the sons of the deceased matriarch? Do they continue living in their sister's household or they have to find some other arrangement? It said grown children rarely have contact with their fathers, do the men play a role in raising their siblings or children of their siblings, or they play no role in raising any children? These sort of videos are quite interesting. Also loved the old Taboo series on TV. I wish they would upload longer, more detailed documentaries.

@JohnDeBunkTest Free love looks great for men, terrible for women! Call me old fashioned but it looks like the women get the short end of the stick in this deal. The man gets to move on but the woman has the raise the children by herself. That may be paradise for a man but from the perspective of a woman who knows that there are other ways to structure society to give women more support, this system has no appeal.
@goatladygletha792

Did you not hear how the land and property pass down through the women? The women wield most of the influence and authority. This seems largely a matriarchal community rather than patriarchal. The children are raised in a family. The women are not left to themselves alone to raise their children.

i live in West. West has no culture. people are driven by media n advertising companies n other big corporations. people of West cant think beyond a tiny hole they live in. in West love means sex. they colonised other world n took their resources. this brought wealth n jobs in Western countries. So West established that our way of life is the best. infact their way of life is worst. as Western economies are collapsing we already seeing cracks into their societies. people of West have no freedom. they live in police states.over fed women n feminists have taken control and imposed mean culture of feminism on men.women have sought all sexual freedoms for themselves. homosexuality is flourshing. breaking the family system. old people rotting in age care centres.children growing in child care centres. girls losing virginity at the age of 12 or 13. Welcom to the West. ( i intentionally did not mention issue of drugs)
@blabityblabblab2

i live in the west, too. i didn't lose my virginity until i was MARRIED at 21! you think 12 or 13 is young to have sex? in islamic countries they believe in pedophilia. even their prophet mohammed married and had sex with aisha (his "favorite" wife) and she was NINE.. he was engaged to her when she was SIX... i noticed you only mentioned GIRLS losing their virginity.. what about boys? boys need to learn to keep it in their pants! and over in islamic countries, they readily behead people, stone people to death, have public executions, hangings, crucifixions, if you're homosexual, they force feed you laxatives and water and glue your butthole shut, so your intestines explode, they abuse animals, have suicide bombings, etc.. that seems like a lot worse than the west... so go blow it out your butt. as for feminism and stuff, yeah, i'm not for feminism. i like equality, not superiority. if a woman wants to be a firefighter or a police officer or a navy seal.. fine... but she should not have special time limits, special weight limits, etc.. she should be able to carry as much as is expected of a man.. she should be able to meet all the same requirements as the men have to. there should be no special services for women. everybody should just be the same. if she works the same job as a man, she should get paid the same. that is true equality. you can do what you want, as long as you meet the standard requirements. as for women being over fed... have you seen the men? there's a lot of huge, fat men out there, too. ones with big ol' beer bellies and thunder thighs, covered in hair, looking like fat gorillas.. they need to lay off the mcdonald's & learn how to eat vegetables. yeah, women have sought sexual freedoms. men have sexual freedom, so what's good for the goose is good for the gander. you want it to stop? stop participating in it yourself, then!.. men need to learn some self restraint just as much as women do. sex is everywhere! it's practically shoved down our throats, even in schools! it's terrible!.. but for thousands of years men have been free to be whores, which is not right, either, so you really can't complain about women finally going "hey, what about me?".. our culture as a whole needs to view sex differently & as being something special between married people... instead of "if it feels good, do it."... in regards to old people being in nursing homes... sometimes that is the best place for them. especially if they have to have 24/7 care. most women have to work these days to make ends meet. they can't all stay home and raise babies & be barefoot & pregnant & take care of every single old person in the family. they have to help put food on the table for their kids because the reality is that their husbands can't do it all themselves... so with both parents working, yeah, kids have to go somewhere. better they go to a child care facility than be left at home all day by themselves... and a lot of times the man will work 2 or 3 jobs and the woman will work one or two herself, just to put food on the table. there's a lot of families out there like that. yes, homosexuality is flourishing. a lot of men are homosexuals. it's not just a woman thing, you know. homosexuality is flourishing all over the world. the east, the west, the north and the south. anywhere you go, you'll find gays and lesbians. EVERYWHERE. not just the west. all economies all over the world are collapsing,. not just western ones. japan's economy is collapsing, they're not western. everywhere there is financial hardships. as for living in police states... it's still better than a lot of places. if it wasn't why are so many people still flocking to western countries? because it's still better than where they came from. that's why.

This is video does not depict polygamy. Polygamy implies multiple lasting relationships i.e. marriages. This culture has solely what I guess would be called open relationships. No permanent bonding. Besides, What's wrong with Polygamy. Jacob, David, Solomon ..they all did it. All us western people would still be doing it if it wasn't for the catholics.

Monogamy allow both parties support each other. Having multiple partner can make it difficult because of limited resource. Even in the time of Solomon, most men have one or two wife at most. You have to super rich to have multiple wives or concubines. Solomon's marriage was mostly political. Just imagine today, you have multiple wives. How are you going to support them, it is nearly impossible for the average people.

@SheepRCool17 Adoptive parents can be absolutely wonderful parents. Though, a child being given up for adoption is a HEAVY decision. Whether the parent is unable to care for their child or worse, dead; giving that child up is a heavy, usually last ditch decision - not a frivolous one. If a person has a child and is able and fit to take care of that child, they need to do just that. Women don't birth children just to pass them to the man up the street and be done with it.

Crio3mo: I can imagine that monogamy would be simple as long as both parties in the relationship agreed to keep it that way. Though, instances of "cheating" would probably be less as they would be free to discuss it openly before entering into the relationship. As for homosexual relationships, I do not recall hearing them mentioned in the video. Bisexuality would probably be more common though, as it would still allow for relationships resulting in children. Record keeping is a must.
