This is something that has always been in the back of my mind but did not know people do landscaping like this with fabric. (I grew up on a dairy farm roaming pastures, woods, orchards, gardens. Moss fascinated me, tiny landscapes.) I am stunned by what I am seeing you do.

Thank you so much for making these treasure filled videos and reawakening my creative artistic inner child. I'm working on my first landscape wall hanging of a sunset over the ocean and a lighthouse in the foreground, and wasn't sure which technique to use that matched what I could see in my mind's eye, until I found you! The insight into your thinking, the tips, the instruction, the watching you work... best videos ever. Priceless. Thanks again!

I appreciate your comments on the process as I am experiencing the same insecurities. I am simply keeping on and playing with ideas. Your backgrounds are wonderful, I am going to allow myself to be playful and not so determined in my directions. Thank you for your inspiration.

Love the video and the way you share your doubts and uncertainties with us. I realise I need to just do it and that is how to learn. But, it is clear to me that you do have a strong artistic talent. Beautiful creations with such interesting detail. I thank you!

Oh, thanks so much. I've met so many people who want so much to be creative but who are frozen with some kind of worry. I always think it helps to hear the stories of people who have walked in those same shoes. I appreciate your comments and compliments. I am hoping more people will send me pictures of their projects for the Viewers' Projects page. Please consider it if you have anything appropriate. Happy sewing!

Wonderfully inspiring. Thank you for sharing your time, talent, and honesty. I like the process but will have to practice thread painting before attempting it. Your voice is so calm and soothing and a pleasure to listen to.

As I was watching your video here you mentioned you lost some of your wash away from the water in your iron. I didn't see where you showed how you use the wash away. Is there another video where you explain anything about using wash away? I wasn't sure if there was a technique to this in which I could be using.

I really needed all this information! Are you using a free motion foot or a darning foot?

Darning. Thanks!

when you're free motion quilting to have your stitch length and width set to zero? Also, do you drop your feed dogs?
@ZazusStitchArt

I try to do all this, but I often forget. I always stop and adjust settings if the stitches don't look their best. I sometimes like the drag of FMQing with my feed dogs down. But I always change things up if my thread keeps breaking or the stitches look bad. Hope this helps. Thanks for the question.

Love the videos, very inspirational. I did have one question, what size stitch do you use.
@ZazusStitchArt
7 жыл бұрын
This varies somewhat, but I like small, tight stitching near trimmed edges. I think it's okay if the stitches are a bit smaller near the edge and a little bigger in the middle of an area. In fact, I often make them tiny where I plan to trim. This is why I have such a fast machine! Thanks!

Love the information but disappointed in the sped up video, it would be nice to see what you are doing. It's pretty much impossible to see the technique at all
