i have made quilt tops for over 20 years and only did stitch in the ditch for the tops I have finished, practicing with free motion & will be finishing 4 placemats this afternoon, I'm really thankful for being able to rewatch your beginner toots. The last 4 placemats I did some echo stitching around my embroidery motifs, that was a lot of fun and my Mother was thrilled to see that I crossed over my comfort level to work a new technique. I am 63 and ready to go to a new level. She will love these

My Mom and Grama were both very talented crafters, knitters, crocheters, cross-stitchers, and my Mom was a seamstress for 50 years. I've dreamed of being a talented seamstress like my Mom, and I've always wanted to be a quilter. My sewing machine died yesterday and I'm going to buy a new machine. Watching your 4-part tutorial was inspirational and helped me in so many ways. I know, now, what I want in a new sewing machine, and I know once I get it that it's ok to take my time, to learn, to practice, and your gentle, encouraging manner is so helpful. I learned a lot from your tutorials. Thank you!

Thank you, thank you, thank you!! I am a new quilter and have been reading/viewing everything I can find for FMQ techniques. So far most everything has been all about materials, setup, posture and designs, leaving me trying to figure out on my own how to actually move the fabric and my hands. Your 4-part tutorial has provided me with so much helpful info in just about 30 minutes. I love the analogy of learning to write using a paper/pen, so along with simple shapes I thought I'd try quilting some letters to help me understand how to properly move the fabric under the needle. Can't wait to try some more - thanks again!

Now I am going to practice before I start my granddaughter's twin size quilt. I am retired and also have a PFAFF an Expressions 4.0 which was recommended by a fabric store owner. I have a cataract taking over one eye I can't get fixed until next month so I am going to use this time to practice. Good thing I have a lot of patience.
