I like austrian way of thinking. But what if its not mutually voluntary exchange? Like the contemporary europe energy crisis. Due to EU zeal for climate policies we have been basically adicted to russian gas with no short term way out. Nobody diversified because russian gas was the most cheap source of energy. Sure, we are not forced to buy it, but then our production collapses and we freeze to death. How does austrian economics deal with possible manipulation from totalitarian regimes? Or more broadly with racketeering in general? Micro case would be 1 guy with food, 2nd guy with a house, if the 2nd one wants to live he needs to buy food, ergo the 1st can set price whatewer he wants, eg house equals loaf of bread?
