nice job man.. I like the way you anchored the bearing .. With the freewheel I guess you can focus on autorotation instead of disengaging some sort of clutch system.

Hi, I'm worried about max allowable torque of that kkfl35 sprag clutch, 175nm. The 582 will produce a max torque of 75nm at 6000 crankshaft rpm. With a 2.62: 1 gearbox that will increase to 197nm. Just saying.
@ultralighthelicopter
Жыл бұрын
Hello... Thanks for your comment, but i think the sprag clutch can handle the torque. Engine torque 75NM x 2.62 (Gearbox ratio) = 196.5NM x 1.37 (Belt pulley ratio) = 269.2NM total on the sprag clutch. I installed a sprag clutch kkfl35 Outside diameter=72mm, Inside diameter=35mm Max rated torque= 350NM. So as i calculated right i have 350NM - 269.2NM= 80.8NM below the rated max torque of the sprag clutch.

My opinion is two one way bearings would be wise. 3 pins will deform the race as it grips the rotor shaft.

Is it an actual sprag clutch or a ramp and roller? (sprag 'clicks' ramp and roller is silent). I'm guessing the Rotax motor is between 30BHP and 60 BHP depending on actual capacity and RPM? (with 4 belts I'm guessing some redundancy and 40hp?) What's max torque and constant power the clutch is designed for? Roller/ramp type can split the outer housing if too much torque is applied although having a pretty decent thickness of pulley will definitely help keep it together

Quite shocked that you don't have some kind of cover plate over those bearing locating pins. Surely you need a way to make it impossible for them to come out.

Hello bro weldone work! I want to buy a lathe machine but I don't know what size is right for me, please what size is your lathe machine? Is it 1 meter lathe machine or table top mini? Please I need your reply.
@ultralighthelicopter
8 ай бұрын
Hy Joseph. Thanks. The lathe i used is around 1m in length. It depends for what application you will use it. Generally i would say bigger is better. For this helicopter project i would choose a bigger one because i came on the limits with the size of some parts i worked on and the motor is for parts with a higher diameter not strong enough to work efficiently.

I admire your enthusiasm, but I still worry about you. Praise is nice, criticism is what an engineer needs. I hope you question your own work and have a thorough knowledge of what you are doing. The majority of your viewers have a lego level understanding of engineering. Be safe mate.

You changed the design here...quite awesome!!!...my question how do you intend to go about the modification of the gearbox breather it's such a pain ..have tried a pipe facing upwards and oil will sip through even 5inch higher than gearbox, blocked that breather and drilled another hole on top of gearbox and still leaks when engine runs, planning to try the new hole plus the normal breather hole all open, if they still leak no idea of what to do next... Lastly am turning out quite heavy, now at 200kgs, might be 230kgs with all fluids onboard, plus my 80kgs weight, so it's not looking good, want to change the chases tubes, what grade and type did u use? Your weight is quite 🔥
