You can fire the safety manager but you can’t dock his pay. That would be illegal.

Trucking company has to pay 4500$😂. Safety manager is just an employee

Retraining for the Safety Officer, 2nd offense he pays up. There should be a routine check list for a spill or different scenarios for a safety guy, not too mention that if the vehicle was a dry van, then a spill of fuel... That is an easier clean.

If the safety manager is an employee (not a contractor) then the company eats the money and probably fires the safety manager. Or not, maybe he's be an exemplary employee otherwise and deserves a chance to prove it wasn't a one time screw up.

The question is who foot the bill? Company or safety manager?

If the safety manager is an employee, the company does. That's what I mean by "the company eats the money." In fact, in some states it's illegal to withhold pay based on mistakes (not sure how Canada handles this at all however)@@BulletBoyGaming

So I booked a load from KCH and got the rate from them, but the BOL was synchrogistics, which we work with as well. If I report one to the other, will they still work with us?

This is all probably why automation will take broker jobs sooner than the drivers.

Double brokering would be easy to stop if the shippers would only release the load to the MC that booked it with the first broker.

Here in the UK we often leave either the back doors open or side curtains open a little so show there no goods or difficult to move goods on board.
