My dad was a Chet Atkinson fan. I started guitar when I was ten but could never understand or read music and theory. A couple of years later he bought me a book with the first tablature I had ever seen. I was amazed what I could do with it. It was called ‘Chet Atkins picks on the Beatles’.

Great playing!! I have a Gretsch myself...but only a little Electromatic. Great guitars. Chet Atkins is one of my favorite players, thanks to my late father. When I started playing 30 years ago, I asked him who the best guitar player in the world was, and he said "Chet Atkins." I didn't know who that was, so I laughed. Later on, after he died, I started looking into Chet's work. Sadly, I never got to tell Dad he was right. But I'm sure he knows.......

Good pickin" but you should be playing a Gibson. Maybe an L5. You know, last name Gibson. Lol. Nothing wrong with the Gretsch though. I had one just like in the 1970's.

@@da19570 Yes, the Gretsch is a real nice guitar. Chet Atkins played one almost exclusively. The L5 was my dream guitar when I was a teenager back in the 60's. No way could I afford one then at $1,200 bucks. I tried one out about 10 years ago when I had some spare change - $6,500 for a used one. I actually didn't like it - it didn't fit my hand. But then my last name isn't Gibson, LOL. Keep on pickin"!
