This video is much needed! Thank you! Glad you made this video. My companies freightliner M2 106 2012 did this exact same thing to me today. The shifters been stiff for a while. Today I shut the truck off for a break. After my break I started the truck up and as soon as I pulled down to shift into drive it wasn't stiff anymore. I thought odd, but I tried disengaging the airbrake. Nope it stayed engaged. Put it back into park and notice something just went wrong. Now I'm watching your video and it seems like an identical issue. Appreciate your knowledge and professionalism. The video is top tier content. Thanks again. Hopefully we can get it fixed with no problem.

You are 100% correct about nevr-seize, specially that aluminum stuff. I have found the hi-temp copper nevr-seize is much stickier and therefore less prone to be all over every thing when you get done working on it. Great job none the less JC.

Most regular 8mm bolts are 8mm x 1.25 pitch fine are 8mm x 1.0 pitch and in some sizes there is a super fine thread. I just ran into my first 8mm x 1.0 a couple of weeks ago. This 69 year old x mechanic hates the metric system. I love watching you, God Bless

Couple questions and comments here, Sir. When do we see more video's of the Dyna-Hoe? I think number 7 was last. Yes--working on stuff like that shifter shows you how ceazy the world has really gotten. All that stuff in the way and how it's configured is designed, I think from the manufacturers to make it evry hard for the average person to repair stuff. Take that job to F/L dealer--I bet it would be a thousand dollare repair bill. The oother concern is some metric parts--all w/ different thread pitches--then just throw a SAE fittings in there--keep them guessing makes no sense. Continue on--Love the video's.

One thing is certain, rust is always creating problems keeping us busy. Last rust I dealt with was removing the PTO drive shaft from the 89 f450. PTO side was nicely greased, came right off. The compressor side however was dry and seized. Lots of heat and air hammer finally got it apart. Even removing the bad u joint it fought, thanks to rust. There will be never seize used in a few places to keep this from happening should I have to remove it in the future. I'd finish it tomorrow but a different truck needs attention more..... another rust related problem.

JC, at about the 24th minute of the video you where commenting on the need of a flat washer but no room. You are in the unique position to point that out to the manufacturer, send them an email refering to either this video or the moment in the video showing the problem in action. You have already made the video, it's not like you have to do anything more to show the problem apart from composing the email. In a lot of cases the company won't understand that there is a problem because nobody has brought it to their attention, in doing so you will have not only told them about it but shown the issue first hand and on any new rigs that they make (across the board)you might have saved a lot of people a lot of time and inconvenience on the side of a road because of just one notice of attention. You have nothing to loose and maybe a little praise for telling them. Tony from Western Australia.
