Freightliner long hauls Hino city truck International w/ maxxforce engine straight garbage International w/ cummins same as Freightliner... As far as service etc I would go with Freightliner, no other company has part service open until midnight or 24/7 and that’s a big plus in the trucking industry

People should know that Freightliners usually run $5 to $10 K more than the Internationals in the used market too, for the same class and category, year and with the same or close to same amount of miles on them. That's one reason I went International but I actually like most of it over Freightliner. It definitely looks better in my opinion and I've also seen more Freightliners being towed than Internationals.

Quality is more costly than a it will do, international is a it will do truck, not like back before the early 2000s, international was up there with peterbilt and kw at one point....but quality is key that and lack of down time i.e truck shop

I’ve seen different I would choose the freightliner with the cummins engine those international engines aren’t very good and they don’t like steep inclines either a lot of noise and no power
@Stucknarutt
2 жыл бұрын
@@jeromep3182 That is mostly true my friend but also where that additional 10 K comes into play. International sold their souls and signed a bad emissions deal with the Devil (the government) many years ago. Shot themselves in the foot but the $$ and benefits were good enough for them to build these highly governed, filtered, regulated and computerized trucks for the new industry standard. They used to run pretty strong and long. Boiled down.., it's pretty much the money in the end and that was mostly my point in previous comment and when I was looking to purchase, I found found Freightliner was out of my budget, comparing apples to apples. In a perfect world.., I'd choose a mix of the two. Piece man, out.

The fright liner over the international the freightliner drives better and handles better over the road and the truck just feels more solid. I will give it to the interior of the international with the digital display is nicer than the freightliner all day long the international seems to bounce a lot and with cummins it’s not a bad truck but the max force not very good those engines don’t like going up grades and they makes an excessive amount of noise and no power

Trucks aren't like cars - it's all about specs - engine, trans, gearing (Transmission and Rear End) - that determines acceleration, cruise speed, MPG and perceived power.... They ALL use the same engines, transmission and rear ends. So when comparing trucks, those three things will need to be the same to make an apples to apples comparison.

Bianca Ejiofor DT466 and Maxxforce DT are similar. The DT466 was 1970s or 1980s all the way up to 2007. After 2007 they changed the name to Maxxforce DT because of the stricter emissions and the quality dropped. If you can find the DT466 pre-2007, buy that truck.

@@BIGBUCKHT75 only 4 mpg? Sounds like something ain't right. If you aren't seeing any fuel leakage on the ground, have you checked your slack adjusters? If any are out of calibration, you might still have friction from the brake pads even with your air brakes released. If that's not it, have a computer do a read out on all your injectors to check for excessive fuel consumption. Any of these causes would drastically tank your fuel mileage. My Freightliner gets nearly 11 mpg, and it's the same size, 26'. And as you see from my pic, it has a 13' tall box.
