You can buy most professional products on the general market, you just have to do a bit of research and make sure it has a good 2 year standard manufacturer’s warranty & pay through PayPal to make sure if you don’t get your product, you get a refund. Plenty of ways around it, so he’s all the products should be listed.

+lorra-marie campbell Nail hardener isn't really a great idea in a lot of cases. Use of a hardener can actually make them break MORE, because it causes them to become so stiff and brittle they split, instead of being flexible enough to bend without cracking.
@Kyosumari
8 жыл бұрын
+Blu Berry I know this comment is like a month old, but I love nails and nail art- I'm even studying to become a nail technician- so I wanted to offer some advice. I suggest taking good vitamins suited for your situation, and make sure you get plenty of B vitamins especially, as they're important for hair and nail growth. (But of course, ask your doctor before taking any supplements) REGULAR use of quality cuticle oil and moisturizers, as well as hand creams or lotions (think argon oil, shea butter, vitamin E, all that good stuff) help hydrate your nails and nail beds, which fight off dry, flaky/split cuticles and hangnails, and also allows the nail to reclaim and retain it's natural flexibility (which resists flaking, peeling, and splitting of the nail itself, too!) Not only will they feel better, they'll look better. :) I have some Burt's Bee's Lemon Butter Cuticle cream I use at night paired with an Almond & Milk Hand Cream (By the same company) which I put on before bed every night. It can be kinda on the "heavy" side and takes awhile to soak in, so if you're worried about it transferring onto sheets and other things, you can wear cotton gloves. In the morning (or whenever I can fit it in my schedule) I use less heavy products, including Sally Hansen VitaSurge Cuticle Gel (which has plenty of vitamin E) massaged into the cuticle and nail, followed by this neat Sally Hansen QuickCare Cuticle Treatment Pen I found at the dollar store, also masssged into the cuticle and nail. I follow it all up with a cute little bottle of some inexpensive cuticle oil, on dropped onto the cuticle and under the nail. And, of course, Lotion as necessary. I just used the same stuff I used on my tattoos. This can be applied and reapplied daily, or as often as you deem necessary, whenever you want to treat your nails to some TLC. It sound s like a lot, but the items are relatively inexpensive, and can even be bought online. It only takes me a few minutes to do the whole routine, unless I feel like being extra massage-y!

The benefit and curse of tips is for the sake of speed most nail techs (especially in the states) use them so then all they'll have to do is the 1 ball or 2 ball method with gel or acrylic. The other unfortunate thing is it's "easier" to sell a full set with tips than selling a full set with forms. Tips will cost cheaper and that's all people will ask for "because it's affordable". I've been belittled too often in the salon I work in because not only am I the youngest, but I use forms. Then again, mastering forms is a skill in itself; just can't stand the judgement just because someone does something different... 😔
@NailCareerEducation
8 жыл бұрын
Belittled? It takes great skill to form nails yourself - you should be proud! Tips are popular because the application is easier and quicker. Don't get into a race to be cheaper. Do superior work, and market your skills - you want discerning clients - not a client who's looking for the cheapest work. Clients who are looking for quality will be your most loyal customers - and become friends too.
@lnuma92
8 жыл бұрын
Nail Career Education I appreciate the encouragement. 🙂 Out here in Hawai'i it's rare to find techs who use forms for a full set since most use tips. Personally, I can't stand tips. They just don't feel organic to me. I feel more confident with forms because at least I'm COMPLETELY responsible for the shape, length, and structure of the nail right then and there. Again, I honestly think I get the most strife because I'm the youngest in the salon. I keep getting called "the silly munchkin tech". 😅 lol
@almanicole1228
6 жыл бұрын
lnuma92 I would gladly pay more for a nail tech who uses forms- and does more quality work. You get what you pay for!!! I am tired of paying what I do already only to leave unhappy because they do it all the quickest ways possible. It’s very frustrating. For what it’s worth, I feel like using forms instead of tips offers a lot more options. Granted, options don’t seem to be very popular in most of your average nail salons. Hence why I sit on KZitem all the time watching people actually do it well- and enjoy what they’re doing at that! lol

I_is_katkit you must be a very skilled person n your salon people must b jealus coz they probly cant do it lol I totaly agree with suzies reply aswel for what it costs to get your nails done u want a job well done n neatness should b first priority on the tech’s mind Theres a salon near me that uses tips n i feel the quality n neatness of their work has just gone downhill over time plus they barely speak a word of english so when you ask them to do sum of the posh stuff you see on the internet they seem like they dnt know what your saying and they chat in their own language amongst each other thats even more frustrating lol

Suzie, I discovered your videos almost a year ago and I was captivated from the first one. I have been using your tutorials to teach myself how to do my own nails. I have struggled with acrylic. I think it is the hardest to perfect of all the products. I turned to gel because I am still very slow at application, however after I saw your polygel video it was like a light bulb explosion. A true "aha" moment. I invested in the Gelish master kit and now I am keen to do things like encapsulation designs, especially with glitter. Your French Almond Glitter design is by far my favourite. So at long last, my question is...could you do a tutorial of this design or something similar using a polygel product? For those of us who are purely amateurs your videos are a source of learning and inspiration. I am receiving a top-notch education in nails...for free! Thank you so much!

Alessia Licata I had long strong nails as well. Then I began doing Taekwondo and I was literally crying when they told me I had to cut off my nails to a length where I can't scratch anyone. I was devasted lmao

Omg! I remember when I played piano, and I couldn't grow my nails cuz I just stoped my habit of biting my nails and they were rlly fragile and shitty, but after when I stopped playing piano, my nails were rlly nice and strong cuz I care for them well, and when it was the time, I chose the flute (not the vertical recorder that doesn't work) and now I can grow my nails as long as I want!

Love this! I'm watching this as I do my own nails (false ones not acrylic) I agree with you about the forms, I have tiny nails, I've been told my thumb is an average middle finger, and when getting my nails done tips are a nightmare for me and the tech who has to file them down for almost every nail. Nails last so much longer on me when the forms are used and I'm convinced it's because the acrylic has more surface instead of the few mm it has with tips.

Hi Susie I think you are just an amazing artist I wish I could make the magic that you make on my nails as you do on yours but I have no experience and I've had a starter kit for over a year that I'm just too scared to start. But every video what I watch and you show us how to do things gives me more more confidence so hopefully I can try and maybe even get good at it thanks for all you do!
