The person introducing this video talks endlessly about 'French Style.' I can tell you now that you can visit any chateau anywhere in France and will NEVER see an interior like that shown in this video. This is pure gaudy 'Over the Top' American style at its extreme.

I don’t like to criticize people because they did something differently than I would do it, But I would say it is very hard to emulate an ancient historic château. The stone alone resonates with centuries of history. The architectural features are extremely intricate and settled, trim work is expertly hand hewn, not machined. The dyes and pigments are different in the antiques found in them, and the time worn wood has a stately presence about it that new furniture cannot possess.

I saw the thumbnail, and saw that the title was "French Chateau Interior" and thought that "That can't possibly be in France." Clicked to make sure, and well, here we are. Assuredly not remotely French, or remotely European.

Not as classy as my Chateau de' Doublewide, located in Parc de' Caravan. True understatement at it's finest. :-)

I'm not a big fan of mansions -- or really busy interiors, for that matter. But I must say this one was a treat to see. I'm sick of the same old beige walls and earth-tone everything that one so often sees in the sprawling mansions of today. (Who defined "understated elegance" as three shades of beige, anyway?) The people who designed this home knew how to use color and texture! Congratulations!

He said "artesians". Did he mean "artisans", or was he talking about the water supply? ;-) -jcr

Beautiful home. Very tastefully done. But where is it? It's says French Chateau. I'm guessing this guy is from southern France.

the outside looks so plastic, and the interior does not recognize the delicate extravagance of the French Baroque, but rather, looks "new money" as if it were a model of a baroque mansion, designed for a drug dealer, or a movie star with lots of money and no taste. It is an extravaganza of bad taste, full of gold and luxury items, but nothing that can be linked to the tradition, the luster and the real luxury of an original french chateau. It's a typical example of the architecture of America, looking to have past but have never really accomplished.

+Eagle Aurum Wealth Club Who cares? All the great examples of French architecture and design are hundreds of years old. The skills of those craftsmen have largely been lost. Even France probably couldn't produce modern buildings that match the buildings of their past.
