Thanks for another Great vid Keith, I plan on getting a Chrysler of similar vintage as a daily driver with as few modifications as possible and knowing the ins and outs really helps.

Amazing how Dodge. Chrysler, Plymouth are similar in engine parts with minor differences, got a 37ish starter from Mississipee for parts look like it was in swamp, muddy, cleaned it up and this was it after trying 3 other claimed 37 issue starters. Carb connection in the state of Washington, Olympia neck of the woods great service via usps "Fuel Link", Ol timer teaching grandson the craft...

that brass/bronze part is also know as a syndhroniser. if the "ramp area" (tapered part of the first motion shaft) is steel they will be made of brass/bronze, but MG made identical synchronisers of steel for the MGA transmission (maybe other models too, IDK why). i can only assume the "ramp area" (tapered part) in which they engaged were made of brass/bronze. how do i know? because an MG dealership sold me a steel one by mistake back in 1972 and it galled itself solidly onto its steel "ramp area" in about three downshifts. i had just rebuilt the engine and trans and they had to come again.

My dad would mention a coworker who never could shift an old non synchro truck without clashing gears (old KA Internationals).

I became quite good at up shifting and downshifting 30's and 40's Chevy ton and a half trucks as a teen. Learned from dad who drove that stuff. It's not to difficult to learn how to NOT clash gears.

Great lesson. I have never quite understood how a synchro worked before having never had one apart. I had seen a parts breakdown in a 35 Chevy shop manual. I was quite surprised to learn they went back to 35 and evidently late 20's as the ton and a half trucks typically didn't have that kind of thing till after WW2.

Been watching many of your videos, particularly the rebuild of the flathead 6. Great stuff!! I am in the process of restoring a 1952 Fargo 1/2 ton pick up which has the flathead 6, with a 25” head. Wondering where you were sourcing engine parts. I am in Ontario. Any help greatly appreciated!!

Very cool! I ordered 90% of my rebuild parts from Vintage Power Wagons. In the USA. What is the displacement of your engine? Bore & stroke?
