This song was such a pivotal point for me. It really helped me understand how done I was with succumbing to my anxiety, that was pushing me to not experience the things I want to experience due to over thinking and not wanting to push myself. Coupled with Learning in Public, when the album was released, really hit home for me. I still struggle with anxiety, but I feel like this song was such a huge aha moment and catalyst to me wanting to change the course of the path I was on. Thank you so much for this song Allie!

Hello, I don't have bad anxiety. Sometimes when I do have anxiety to do something. I always keep my mind upon this idea... the idea being it's now or never. Remember that, and I hope it helps you! Like you can now take the risk or you may never have another chance. Go small and try it when you wanna raise your hand in class. Tell yourself,"It's now or never" and it'll work. Just trust me and I hope I helped you with my tip and or trick.

When this song came out in 2019 I was starting a new program in college. Six months prior I had lost my grandmother. And during the summer my depression was very bad and my anxiety was through the roof. I was having a very tough time coping mentally with everything. Then I started school and was working at a fast food restaurant part time. I often worked late night shifts that would end around midnight. Then I’d have to walk long ways to my bus stop. I’d listen to Fresh Laundry. I felt like I was on another planet. Looking at the dark sky, the trees and shadows of trees, feeling that cold night summer breeze. I felt sad, lonely, but it also felt good if that makes sense. I emotionally felt connected to this song because I always felt so crappy, so this song let me experience that and let my emotions out. I still get chills when I play Fresh Laundry. It takes me back to that time. I love it.

i love you so much. i can't really grasp how this song makes me feel, it's so layered and melancolic yet full of hope. fresh laundry is a longing for stability, a lost maternal warmth in a cold adult world

That's my favorite song from cape god, the song + the MV transmitted me a lonely feeling, the part of wanting to be woke up by friends calling, not being bothered by no one, and wanting attend nice parties, Wich I interpreted as wanting to be part of something, hit me a lot because I feel forgotten by my so called "friends", they seem to love me when they see me, but I can just vanish and nobody bothers to come after me or notices, or invite me to something, I can't remember the last time I attended somebody's I know birthday party.

One of the best songs I've ever heard. Great idea for lyrics and the evolution of sounds with the main melody, the climax at the end is just brilliant.

I can’t quite even express the feelings this song gives me. My favourite parts are the bits “said you’re always on my side but....” bc it indicates such big change within life which really resonates with me, especially the “tell me who am I?” And the part about how old parts of you have to die. It gets me to think and look inside of myself and look at if I’m playing other characters, and if I am then what are they? What part to they play in the bigger picture etc.? And most of all it makes me feel like moving from turmoil into peace, but specifically the journey between. It’s a song that really makes me think, whether that’s good or bad. But it resonates with me so much and I love it

When i 1st listened to it I felt for me dealing with depression and my room having the laundry pile up and feeling of wanting to be social and be outgoing with lots of friends and having all my ish together was something i longed for and how conflicted it was to have the energy to do basic things like laundry.
