This is so accurate. After living in another country for a long time, sure there are stuff you miss back home but you will not be able to live there. Transportation alone is a huge obstacle if you are used to driving everywhere in America. Standing in the heat waiting for buses is a torture when your body has gotten so use to the chilly weather in the west you'd be sweating like a pig in minutes.

As a himalyan asian...I wanna say that America doesn't have chilly weather everywhere. Its a huge country and the kind of cold in America and Canada is the worst kind of cold. Driving everywhere is what is making american's obese. That's why Europeans are fitter. They have great public transportation system and walking culture.

Chinese weddings have adopted more western traditions. White in general is a color only worn in funerals traditionally speaking in Chinese culture, but brides wearing white dresses are very common.

I like stories from imigrants but i'm really happy i'll never be one. I live in Brazil 3 hours away from my home town and that is far and close enough. I can be home sick been this close, not interested in crossing oceans for too long. Maybe would be nice to doed for a while, like a feel months or a year, but at 31 i do feel a little old for that, no kids but still too much responsabilities.

Only thing immigrants are delusional about is that they think that hardwork alone is enough for success. You need also connections those who will support in order to achieve success. If louis immigrated to america with his brother it would be way easier for him to achieve something. But he chose the hardest path possible and now suffers from it. "Sole soldier on battlefield is not a warrior"-Russian proverb.
