I remember making butter as a young girl, in a quart jar shaking it, when one kid got tired, another took over. Mom made bread while we were making butter. Nothing taste better than the two. Miss Lori, you make every recipe so easy, and explainable. The night sounds were a good ending to the video. Thank you. Hello to Mr Brown.

Oh Ms.lori I started making no knead sandwich bread. I made 2 loaves last week and yesterday i made 4 loaves so I could give 2 loaves to my oldest son & his family . As bread is so expensive $4.78.for 1 loaf . We stsrted buying real raw milk at our farmers market Its so good . People need to know the healthy benefits of real milk ! Now i can make butter . Thats all ive ever cooked with My grandmother who lived through the depression but on a farm Loved her butter & eggs and lived to 96 yrs old . Ive told many people int 57 yrs how bad margarine is for you ... Only butter in our family .thank you for teaching us this . I told my son about learning to make mayo from you i watched an older video- I will be making my own after my supply of hellmanns & dukes is gone as its up to $7 for 30 oz jar now . He my son knew already . And is so glad Im re-learning things I forgot from my childhood. God bless you Ms.lori & Mr.brown You deserve all the blessings you have been blessed with surpassing 400,000 new friends/ subscribers Its yalls kind hearts we all come to hear from . mrs josette Tharp Texas ❤🙏🙏🙏

After a long day on my homestead, I'm laying in bed listening to the windchill in the background. I forgot about my bread machine. my kitchen woukd be so much cooler! You are so smart. Butter is made here 3 times a week during the summer. My cows and goats are freshened, producing the richest milk of the year. In case you did not know, the cow cream makes sunny yellow butter, and the goat cream makes snow white butter. They taste exactly the same. Thanks for sharing!

Nope, not much better than fresh homemade bread that's for sure, and with homemade butter too, Heavenly! I have never made the croutons but THANK YOU for sharing, I was actually going to buy some at the store last week until I saw each package said "contains bioengineered ingredients" and I am turning away from that stuff, now I can have REAL, and healthy ones...YAY!!!! Ms. Lori. When I saw all these fresh herbs and your fresh butter I thought it would be great to make herb butter. Just finely dice a bunch of your favorite herbs, work them in the butter. Add garlic if you like Roll it up in parchment paper like you did and cool it until hardened. Then slice the butter, put on a baking sheet and freeze. Once frozen bag it up. If you never had a steak (beef or pork) or baked potato with herbed butter on top, you’ve got to try it.

I did want to tell you of one of my earliest memories. Sitting on the couch with our babysitter, Mrs. Quick, with a pint jar of milk, (I was 3-1/2, my sister (6-1/2) had a quart jar, and Mrs. Quick had a gallon jar, and it was our job to shake our jars until they were butter...all while the babysitter's stories were on (TV). Tired arms, but oh the glorious taste of that butter!

As a child, I made butter at my mom’s cousin’s farm in Michigan. I also got to dye margarine in Wisconsin. Back in the day you couldn’t buy yellow margarine in our Dairy State. You bought a bag of this white mixture with an orange dye capsule. You would squeeze the bag breaking the capsule. You kept squeezing the bag until it was a uniform yellow color.

I’ve been making bread for the last couple months. We haven’t bought any from the store! I love my bread machine for the dough. I form my own loaf or rolls. My machine quit yesterday, good thing I had another one. The paddles quit turning. I had to make a quick change over. I have gradually added a little wheat to my bread flour. My recipe makes such a soft loaf, hubby prefers wheat. Only adding a little at a time til we are both happy!

7/8 of my family is Irish. I remember my Great Aunt churning then taking a big slotted spoon and getting the butter out and washing it. Then putting it in a square butter mold. She would go by every now and then and twist a knob on the side and squeeze some more liquid out. Till she was happy with it. Then wrap it in butcher paper and put in her icebox.

Lori, this is SUCH a lovely video! I loved all the extra little touches, ie seeing your herb harvest & enjoying the evening sounds from the pond. I might splurge for our 50th anniversary and get us that bread maker you have. I read someone that said before the final proof, shevtakes the paddles out so the bread won't have them stuck in the bottom of the baked bread. Have you ever tried that ? If so, what was your opinion about it? I would love there to be a source of raw milk near Searcy but I'd need to use a lot more milk to make a 3 or 4 hour round trip to get some. Now that my great-grandson & my daughter has moved to Wyoming, we only use half a gallon a month 🤣 Love ya, my friend. Tell Danny I hope he had good fun at the fishing tournament the other evening. Sure is rainin' and lightening in Searcy at the moment! 😁👍🏻👏👏🙌🏻🙌🏻 Thank you, Jesus.
