my serger is a must. Go into sewing shops, including Joann’s, and have them show you and test sergers out. This way you can pick one that’s most comfortable for you.

You deserve a new serger. I got mine from Walmart and it wasn’t very expensive, so I would look online, and in the meantime, you can use a zig zag stitch to finish off your seams for a clean finish. Congratulations on your new bundle of joy.

I definitely rely on my serger when sewing with knit fabric. I have the Brother 1034D and I use it ALL the time. I see with knit fabric a lot.

I totally understand wanting to feel creative. I love the blanket you made. Pockets on bags can be so tricky. I’m glad you made it work! Fabric glue is acceptable! My serger is being serviced and I miss it sooooo much, so I understand. I would see if you can find one secondhand first. But if you KNOW she isn’t using it, get it back!😂

Thank you so much for watching and for your kind feedback! I also like the idea of checking out a secondhand machine! Thank you ❤️

Serger woes - I understand. I've been trying to use my serger more and I love it when it doesn't want to act funny. On my last project, I was bold enough to rethread it with thread matching my fabric but the main thread (cant remember the name), gave me the blues while re-threading and then later in the project, the regular needle kept getting unthreaded! LOL HOWEVER, the joy I had when I fixed them both. I absolutely love the finished look on the inside. With practice, I'm sure threading it will become alot easier. I have a Janome, but I hear the Brother brand is easier to thread. :)

I’m so glad you shared your experience with me, the good and the bad. I’ll look into a Brother since you’ve heard it’s easier to handle. Thank you! And happy sewing!

Get a serger. I fought it a long time, but it was a game changer when I finally got mine. As far as threading, just be patient and practice. It gets easier!

@@weceestyle That's great! It's the only one I've ever used so I didn't know it was so good! Remember, practice will help with the threading.

Girl. Go get your serger back if she is not using it. And stop supporting Walmart. What you made for your daughter is precious. You did it for her. Be proud of that.
