Lawd gal I to was raised up on fried chicken, cornbread, skillet biscuits, turnip greens, field peas, butter beans right out the garden, crackling bread..them was the good ole days. lol

My dad cooked corn bread fitters with soup beans and coleslaw. He loved hog head in the beans. He grew up 🆙 n a farm in South Carolina!

My daddy cooked hoecake bread in a iron skillet on top of the stove top for me when I was a young girl, he used bacon grease which give it a crunchy outside crust and also gave it that special flavor that the southern hoecakes are known for. I make them now and them.

@@barbaraoxendine2249 Barbara I was raised in rural north red dirt farm I know that is good cooking mama raised taught us 9 girls how to make a lot of stuff from home cakes corn bread fritter some people call hot corn bread,home made souse meat, hog jowl pinto beans with ham hocks home made octagon soap ourselves I the was pot wee we were healthy cause we eat off the land no fillers fibers,raised our chickens,hogs, my mama canned,frozen veg wee that was good eating
