I LOVE the contact to the snake before you began handling it. Not all kept snakes are this friendly, but snakes that tend to strike when you first open their enclosure likely think they're getting fed. Many snake owners will gently tap or touch their snake before handling it to let them know that it is handling time and not feeding time. This way, you will have fewer chances of getting mistaken for a meal when spending time with your beautiful noodle :)

I dont hate them, at all....this is one of the reason being Just afraid..... Because i dont know how to be friendly with it without trying.... But if i try i could get some unwanted things And since i'm shaky and anxious of failing in trying new things...i dont want to risk it I have petted one in a zoo though! Had a moment of relief It did wrapped around me which triggered my scaredy cat flight mode How do any of y'all get comfotable around it and not have any fear of being its prey? I know that "if it doesnt think you're trying to kill it, it wont hurt you" (by friend). But i feel like every wild animal will initiate defense mode once you're even existing around them...
@obsidianfrost9514

Short of an anaconda no other snake is large enough to even attempt to eat you. As for venomous snakes you wouldn't randomly pet one that's owned unless the owner is completely inept. Your fears are justifiable but nothing you need to worry about. Although don't let larger constrictors near your near unless you 1.) Know the snake well 2.) Have it's handler near by. But again you'd never need to worry about anything but maybe a bit if you made it mad. At worst a stitch or two. But they are to small to deal a lot of damage

Bible: snakes are the very embodyments of satan himself Snakes:

Fun fact. there is no confirmation anywhere that the snake in Eden was Satan. In fact, in the past it was thought to be Lilith. This is why in a lot of art the snake is portrayed to be a woman.
@hirotashi5950

@@expertoflizardcorrugation3967 who the heck is Lilith? dude literally the Bible tells you straight up it was Satan controlling that snake. I'dk where you got this information
@expertoflizardcorrugation3967
2 жыл бұрын
@@hirotashi5950... except for that it has never said that at any point. Lilith is most specifically referred to in Jewish mythology, but they are often referred to as the first wife of Adam. Leaving Eden after refusing to be subservient to Adam. also seen as a profoundly evil figure, but neither are confirmed to have been the snake of Eden either way. If you want to use Mythology as a justification for the unjustified hatred of snakes I can easily just say the following. The snake was punished was it not? Cursed to crawl on its belly evermore? punished to lay eggs. And if the snake was indeed controlled by any outside force then A- it wasn't the snake that did anything B- The snake got cursed for no reason.
@expertoflizardcorrugation3967
2 жыл бұрын
@Shasvin Puvanesvaran I'm aware of those stories; they just didn't seem relevant, so I didn't care to bring them up. I just like Trivia. Religious texts are great for trivia because A- there's loads of it and B- people actually care about it. Most of the world follows one religion or another(some variant of catholicism or Islam mostly) and some of them are really invested in their texts, and it's fun to see how they react to new interesting info. Btw maybe I'm mistaken, but I was always under the impression that it was Yahweh as opposed to Yehwah, but I guess either could be as If memory serves the original translation was JHVH which was later corrected to YHWH.
@iMajoraGaming
2 жыл бұрын
@@expertoflizardcorrugation3967 Idk man but all of the 5 Bibles and adjacent texts I've read, including Catechisms pretty clearly imply it was Satan, even the Talmud etc. I've also never read any implications that it would have been Lilith. Lilith is an Owl dude. Not a snake. She has never, as far back as is visible, been a serpent. She was around long before the Bible and was a Screech Owl. She was never associated with snakes. Satan was. It's borderline integral to the Abrahamic religions' theology and creation myths that it was Satan. Absence of explicit confirmation isn't really a thing that matters in theology given that it's expressly metaphysical and metaphorical. Since the birth of Christ and long before did Abrahamic followers consider serpents evil and manifestations of the "Big Bad" whatever incarnation that sect had as the Big Chungus of Bad Dudes, they likened to a snake. Lilith is apocryphal at this point as well. Insofar as Christianity is concerned, she may as well have never even existed and isn't canonical to their telling of Eden. Even in Judaism we don't really even talk about her possible existence. She never shows up except in reference to older creation myths, and isn't even told as his wife anymore. She's the She-Demon. The primordial first. Lilith actually pretty much only exists in the Talmud. Making her an explicitly Jewish aspect. She's not in the Tanakh. And in the Tanakh it's pretty clearly Satan that takes the form of a serpent. In the Talmud Lilith is either a she-demon, or Adam's first wife, expelled for her evil and turned into a demon off-screen. Lilith being the serpent has never been even a credible belief to theologians as far back as you can go. She was either a demon from the start, or was Adam's first wife, expelled for sin and turned demon. She's never implied to have returned to Eden because the Big Cheese Upstairs expressly made it impossible.

My family owned a Burmese when I was little. His name was Harley. Around the time I was first born, he was put in my crib and just curled around me (not tight, just wanted to be friends). As I got older, I liked to sit and watch him. Such a cool snake. We had to give him away when I was about 8 or 9. He was getting too big and we couldn't afford a bigger case for him. We gave him to a lady that owned a big animal farm. I hope he had the adventure of a lifetime there. Edit: I would appreciate if people leave my parents alone, please. I just wanted to share a story and I am STILL getting responses from a comment I made months ago that I have mostly forgotten about. Harley was a good snake and I will forever talk highly about him. Kindly take your opinions about my parents elsewhere.
