could also be a respect thing. i've squatted down to a goose's level multiple times and if you aren't towering over them they're usually a bit more receptive to you. one let me get my camera really close to them also, if you just generally respect their space they're chill. i stop to let geese cross the bike path i use and i haven't had an issue with one yet

Yea, that and I also think they're just really good at picking up on your energy and aura.

They’re so misunderstood. I’ve been feeding them for years and I’ve NEVER had one be aggressive to me!

@@neuro-DYE-vergent Exactly. If you're friendly to them, they're friendly to you. And boy can they become tame. They are highly intelligent and highly social creatures. More than most people I know. Geese rule!

The key is to be gentle and non-threatening to them. I got down on the father's level when he hissed and ran at me and I said that I wasn't going to hurt him or his family. He seemed to understand and was OK after that.

No matter how many times videos like this are shown, if you are from Canada, you question if these are real geese.

People get attacked by geese in the US too, but they love us for some reason.

Here in Germany, they also don't do anything, usually. But in North America, I encountered hissing geese multiple times for some reason (also Dominican Republic). Can someone explain?

I honestly don’t know. They become territorial and when the babies come, they are very protective which makes them worse. Someone in Canada must have messed with them 200 years ago and word got around in the goose circles and they want revenge still.

I know four families at a park across from my home in Minneapolis. The know me very well and I can feed the goslings within a week from hatching.

Only if you bring the wrong energy. If they can detect you're relaxed and not nervous, they're actually very friendly.
