FLAMBOROUGH LIFEBOAT
At 2:45 on the afternoon of 30th September 1958 the coxswain told the honorary secretary that two fishing cobles were at sea. As the weather was deteriorating, the lifeboat Friendly Forester was launched at 3:00 in a rough sea. There was a strong south-easterly wind and a flood tide.
The lifeboat found the fishing coble Boy's Own a mile and a half north-east of Flamborough and escorted her to harbour. By then the second coble had also reached the harbour and the lifeboat returned to station arriving at 4:15pm.
