@@ErinAbou Please reread what I wrote. I wasn't implying Fr. Long used F-bombs in his homilies 🤦♀️. What I'm saying is if it's ok to go to a movie with F-bombs in it then it is ok for MY parish priest to use F-bombs in his homilies. To put it another way, just because this movie is a redemption story, the end does not justify the means of using f-bombs and other r-rated material in it.
@maryrotz2636

@@ErinAbouI know what the point of the film is. I am sorry but I am catholic and it is never ok to do evil for good results. Like robbing from the rich to give to the poor. Even if the rich is someone like Bill Gates who wouldn't miss a million dollars. If you have to commit sins like saying the f-bomb and the other "adult" content in the movie to try to get people to stop sinning and turn their life around you're defeating the purpose. Anyway I think this is Mark Walberg's not Mel Gibson's film. From the previews of the Ressurection I think its going to be different than what we expect. I have a feeling because Gibson is working so hard on it and it's taking so long to make he wants to make sure he gets it right what he is trying to tell the audience in the movie. By your logic, we couldn’t see the transformation of Saul to Paul in art and film. Saul (later St. Paul) hunted Christians and organized murder parties. Father Stu film isn’t sugar coated. Father Stu wanted to be a movie star which indicates his desire to have the spotlight on him. This is an indication that he desired to be in the limelight. The role of the priest in the Catholic church is similar since they are glorified in life by their parish members to represent God's word and truth without a willingness to answer opposing questions. Mel Gibson most likely financed this movie too to overcome a sort of personal demon involving guilt and wanted this movie to succeed with the numerous support of Catholic believers, like babbling sheep who never dare to answer a serious question involving life ever after.

There is truth in what you say but then not in the way you understood. The greatest virtue is lived through the struggles of our individual calling, a vocation that seeks favour not of the world, but of God and His will. We are not called to easy comforts the world offers, but to greatness in God Almighty. And while mortals are absorbed by the thought of death and loss, we seek liberation from death itself. Fr Stu lived a life that constantly reminded him of death. He more than understood this liberation.
@dianapalmerbrooks
2 жыл бұрын
@@wenshan9101 I never met him so it’s difficult to say via a Hollywood portrayal of him after his life ended. He didn’t write his own story, so we don’t know if he would appreciate movie stars profiting from their interpretation of his lifestyle. So the movie is rated R which makes it unacceptable for children and Jesus wouldn’t approve of denying a story to children if it truly represents a message from Christ. I believe God is inspiring a story about a nun who recently passed away. She was the principal of Saint John the Baptist elementary and worked at Bishop Luers HS and went to Saint Mary of the Woods. My story sheds light on a serious problem with the Catholic Church. I keep faith in God but question religious leaders. Tomorrow is Easter 🐣 so let’s pray that someone powerful take an interest in my story since I believe God chose me to retell the story. I couldn’t make this story up and there are key facts which can be verified to be true.
