Great video! Can you tell me from experience with it, as manual wording is confusing regarding to timer mode. Manual says if you are using TIMER mode and set timer, Says once that timer stops you must repeat all steps above to set a timer again? meaning it only sets 1 future timer up, and for example if you select 8 hours , it will not continually turn it back on and off every 8 hours? Odd. I wanted it to make it run exactly every 8 hours without having to manually set it each time. Am I misunderstanding the function of this option? And with the option to CHOOSE your humidity level, if you choose 50% say, it will turn itself on and off by itself throughout the day to maintain that 50%? Fan will run but compressor only when needed. Or do you need to keep restarting it that way too? Continuous mode does not let you set a desired level and runs 24/7? Any feedback on these 3 options would be appreciated.

Did you test it the same time of day? Humidity is much higher in the early morning.

Sure hope you have better luck with this junk than I have. I purchased 2 of these in 2019. 1 worked for approximately 18 months. I did not attempt to use the other one until September 2022. In my area, dehumidifiers are not used during winter months so it was not used for approximately 5 months during the winter. I plugged it in first time in April, 2023. It worked fine until about June 15, 2023. I noticed it was not running and had EC error code on the display. From my research on Google and You Tube, from all indications it cannot be repaired. By the way, the first one also as displaying EC error code, so I have two of the 50 pint Frigidaire dehumidifiers sitting in my basement that is not functioning and both are out of warranty

Unfortunately that sounds like a typical unit. I bought an extra two year warranty this time around because they all go bad within 3 years. If you want a unit that will last it will have to be a commercial unit and the cost is between 800 and 1000 dollars. I wish I had bought one of those years ago.

What was the 'small' 30 pint model/make? and comments on it compared to this one in use/setup/build quality compared to the Frigidaire 50 pint model. I think the 50 pint needs to run for 3-4 days on CO (continuous operation) before the unit is up to speed. Maybe you should check the buckets now and see if the difference is the same as on the first day few hours of opereration comparison. Thanks for the video. I did like seeing the area it's for.

The model number is Frigidaire FAD301NWD Energy Star 30-Pint Dehumidifier. I don't know if they make this model any more. I bought it in 2016, it failed and they sent me a new one but it isn't available on Amazon. Since 2011 I have had 5 different humidifiers and all of them fail after about 2 years. That is why I bought the extra warrantee.

Did the 50 pint unit ever work out for you over time?

No. It works no better than the 30 pt.

I wonder if the energy efficiency rating of the 50 pint caused the difference?

I don't know but from the weight and the looks I think the guts of two are the same
