Melisso, Thomas Hemsley. Je possede le CD. Je trouve que c'est superbe. Merci et salutations de Montréal, Qc, Canada

Two of the best 20 century singers Fritz Wunderlich lived only 36 years but he was a marveleus tenor who could sing Haendel Mozart and opereta with the same talent. And Dame Joan Sutherland was marveleus too.Two great stilists who how to sing I think that the mezzo soprano is Huguette Turangeau who sang many times with Dame Joan Sutherland including the Haendel Rodelinda ópera.

Dare I state the obvious and point out that the role of Ruggiero was written for a mezzo/ castrato and, as here, sung an octave lower is just too low for Wunderlich. Procter's role generally fits within her octave comfort zone whilst Dame Joan makes some pleasant sounds having, as usual, had her part translated into Klingon. The "authentic" brigade have had some criticism over the years but they do this sort of thing so much better not least by doing what the composer actually wrote.
