I was just thinking about Doris Day while watching her film debut in Romance on the High Seas in 1948. I still miss her to this day. Isn't it funny that with all of the great stars who left this earthly plain, Doris Day's spirit still shines thru her films and music. She was a great lady and a fine actress and singer. RIP.

I will always remember her acting in the famous Hitchcock film The Man Who Knew Too Much, with Jimmy Stewart, as she was a complete natural, and her voice at times reminds me of an angel speaking. I just drove through her later hometown, Carmel, a couple weeks ago, as I am a local artist in Portland Oregon, commissioned with several others to do a painting of a specific place on the west coast of America, and I chose the Bixby Canyon Bridge at Big Sur. I mentioned her name to local people there, as they pointed down the road and said, she lives right over there, you should go say hello to her. I was on my last day there and in a rush to leave to get back to Portland, an 850 mile one way drive back home, but I wish I would have gone by just to say hello to her and tell her how much I appreciated her in those classic movies, as I watched them as a young teen in the 1960s on late night TV here in Portland, because now she's gone.
