Tati is one of those people who has medical issues and seeks out something she can do or change in order to make herself feel like she has control over the issues rather than accepting that sometimes human bodies just don't do what we want them to do. I feel bad that she is infertile. I know she has wanted a child for a long time. But her diet isn't causing the issue. my thoughts as someone who both has a bowel syndrome and was a health coach: when your health isn’t the way you’d like, you tend to obsess over it. your body is the only home you never leave. it’s tough to deal with symptoms and go through the stress of pinpointing what’s wrong. there are also dozens of camps in the nutrition space. every single one of them have a clique-ish group and diet culture language. there will always be extremists in every group and nutrition is BIG on that. ultimately, she’s probably put a lot of trust in people who may or may not be right in order to heal her body. there are some smaller aspects to what she says that could be true and rooted in studies, but the majority of nutrition is personal and individualized. there’s a fallacy that everyone has where the moment you discover something new, you feel the most entitled to share that info. but as you learn, you realize you don’t know nearly enough to coach everyone nor is your responsibility to. i think she should be careful and her audience should be careful too. hopefully she can find a way to explore her health without making it a part of her brand, cause this could be dangerous for those who are gullible. *sorry this was long. i can recognize the ideologies she’s talking about so i’m not surprised by her changes and thought i’d share from my perspective.

I think my biggest issue with present Tati is that her new "diet" is that she seems to be supporting an extremely expensive lifestyle that the average person can't afford. It's so incredibly expensive and unattainable for the average person, and she's making it seem like it's the only way to improve your health. Like, who can afford special water? Who can afford to buy meat straight from the farmer? She seems so out of touch now and unaware of the average person. I agree 100%. I have not watched her video so if she was only speaking about herself yes there are people who are having issues with ingesting some vegetables. To be honest in most cases it's because they were eating way to much of it, or too much of the same vegetable, ot too much of certain raw vegetables like raw spinach which has a high level of oxalate when not cooked. So it's not a good thing to eat too much of it raw, especially for certain people who are more sensitive to it. As she explained she used to do like many people who thi k they found health a lot of veggie smoothie which can explain a lot of things. Plus she did not say she does not eat veggies but less of it and overall more wholefood which everyone should do. Although her collagen powder is not really natural and wholefood either but that's another topic. I am currently studying to become a dietician in France and review a lot of nutrition research paper and what she said in the clip I saw at least can make sense for certain people. There is not one single way for everyone to eat healthy but there might be only one or 2 ways to eat healthy for one particular person.

Tati talking about gut health and then recommending dairy is wild. This is where it purely depends on the person and their bodies ability to process particular foods. My body does amazing on high protein, and fat with a decent dose of fibre. High carbs make me drowsy and bloated. My body does beautifully with dairy products, but if I eat a vegetarian diet (not even vegan) within a week I start feeling sick, and tired. Yet I know people that have been vegetarian their entire lives that are quite fine. I do think humans are very complex and many things in our diets are not black and white. Unfortunately I do the best I can with what I can afford and that means I can't eat perfectly for what my body craves because it's a very expensive diet. And I think many people are in the same boat.

@@savannahrae9122 yeah, it’s very subjective. Nightshades are one of the things to avoid on the anti inflammatory diet but I don’t have a problem with those (it’s the Italian in me lol). Many things that are “good for you” are way more expensive than other things, I always thought it was fucked how gluten free stuff is so expensive when celiac is an actual disease that can ruin peoples lives.
@heredianna2496
Жыл бұрын
Yes as the other person said it depends. I am in France and nobody here think here that dairy is bad for your gut or cause inflammatory in general. If you have gut issues the first thing they'll look is if you eat a lot of processed food and sugar, alcohol content etc... If symptoms continue they'll process by elimination while trsting all type of food including vegetables... Plus when it comes to dairy there is different quality of dairy also. But If you're lactose intolerant obviously it is advice to not drink dairy but that's not the case of everyone and it'seasy and quick to be tested on that. Nuts are healthy, although many people are allergic or sensitive to eat so they just have to avoid it but that does not mean it is not good in general.

I might be totally off about her motivation here, but it honestly sounds like it. Like she's grasping at any chance to get pregnant. If that's the case.. That was my step mom when I was younger! The cabbage soup diet!!!! Ahhhh...the house smelled awful for about 2 weeks then she moved on to some other fad. It was sad to see because of course at first she would drop a few lbs but they weren't sustainable so of course she would "cheat" with foods not specific to the diet then blame herself and then the cycle started again. I tried telling her that her "cheating" on the diet was probably her body telling her it was lacking something and literally begging for certain things that she wasn't ingesting. Thankfully she has been healthy for years now and loves her body, eating a healthy diet while still allowing herself to eat not so healthy foods just because she likes them and enjoying her relationship with both food and her own body.

Yeah I unfollowed her as soon as I finished watching that diet video. I have zero tolerance for people that spread ideas about health that have zero science or peer reviewed research to back it up to massive followings, especially when those followings have largely younger and impressionable fanbases. I agree with your comments toward the end about this possibly being a sort of trauma response to her infertility/etc, but of course we can't diagnose her with anything as that's between her and her mental health professionals (if she's seeing any). But her whole vibe lately has been off and this was the final straw for me.

I want to preface my comment about Tati’s new mindset with an industry bias I have from working in molecular pathology and having a neuroscience degree so I’m not blindly going ‘do you girl!’… but finding a diet that works for you can be like finding the answer that was hiding in plain sight in terms of improving your own quality of life, and being invested in the details about what you consume every day is one of the first steps to making better choices. A lot of the points she was elaborating on HAVE been scientifically explored and definitely not talking out of her ass. She never outright recommended that her choices are the best ones across the board or that not eating vegetables is the cure for PCOS or the secret to anti-aging or something. Sharing her experiences in a Q&A while making her reasoning clear and deferring to professionals for the information that she’s basing her choices off of is a more responsible way to discuss nuanced topics like diets, so I struggle with the idea that she’s pushing propaganda… especially she’s really not wrong about any of her anecdotes because she repeatedly makes it clear that she’s only speaking on her own experiences and wellness journeys are completely subjective. At the end of the day, I don’t think she should be scrutinized with such concern when she just shared what was making her feel better from an evidence-based perspective because people wanted to know. Also hindsight is always 20/20 so its definitely valid to think you had peaked x time ago and realize later that it wasn’t what you thought! (Side note: She’s not wrong about the connection between GI and neurological health, it has been heavily researched and proven that the digestive system and CNS play off of eachother. Additionally, being invested in vitamin and mineral bioavailability when changing your diet isn’t conspiratorial.)

I was looking for a comment like this! I have been in med school for over 4 years and I totally understood what she meant when talking about a few topics. Some might be controversial but I appreciate the way she says it's her opinion. To me she's not coming across as if she's stating these things as facts. Also, I don't even know why she's been so criticised about the raw egg thing... if it's quality eggs from a local farm especially or also if they've been pasteurised. My mom used to put one raw egg in my milk when I was little, it's not always a bad thing. Just because something seems out of the ordinary it doesn't mean it's automatically cult topics and sometimes we also should do a bit of SOLID research before labelling things.

I’ve recently stumbled across this channel. The irony of Angelika having no more formal medical education than Tati but saying Tati spreads nutritional misinformation, followed by her own opinions of nutrition… I just saw a video of Angelika slamming Jeffree Star for a number of reasons that seem valid but one of them being his products are environmentally unfriendly and wasteful, then in this video proceeds to recommend powder puffs. Just an overall lack of self awareness. Also spreading misinformation about what being in a cult actually entails. This is an area I do have experience and education in. Caring about potentially dangerous chemicals in drinking water and changing from a vegan to more meat based diet, for personal reasons, does not signify cult practises. Tati has changed her spiritual beliefs, and this is the only issue raised that could indicate cult practice if, and it’s a big if, Angelika knew specifically what Tati’s new beliefs demand of her. Having to throw out tarot cards and crystals is pretty standard for most born again Christians. It’s not harmful to Tati’s mental and/or physical well-being.

I get where you're coming from but as a person in the scientific field the use of Glyphosates have been studied and found to cause problems in people that consume elevate levels of it (this includes working with it or living near places that use it extensively). Microplastics are of real concern and shouldn't be brushed under the rug doesn't matter what you believe in (or you plotical position) when the deepest parts of the ocean (that have been surveyed) and the highest altitudes on earth can still produce contaminated samples something is wrong. When plastic can be found in people's bloodstream and in the placenta of women who have given birth, that is a concern. When plastic or other extensively used chemicals are found to have negative effects on the endocrine system of living thingsand are effectively unavoidable, it shouldn't be listed of as a cultish belief but rather something more research should be done on. And for solutions to the created problems to be found. There are studies on these things. And people can choose to research things at their own depression just remember that most studies will only be funded if they can be found to be beneficial or profitable unless the researcher funds it themselves. There's a reason some scientific techniques are wide spread and others are not (bacterial control using viruses is a good example of lack of funding meaning lack or results in an extremely useful resource).

She’s gotten into thinkings there are super foods that can cure cancer , and essential oils cure everything even drinking it and putting it on your skin which is dangerous. She once said that coconut oil will prevent Alzheimers and instead ended up with high triglycerides after I tried explaining that’s not even good. It’s a big saturated fat. And then started prepping for the end of the world as well. I really think it’s triggered by declined metal health. But usually these same people refuse mental health help as well which is even more sad. Oh and I just remembered she told me I was going to die for getting the Covid vaccine in a year. She sounds like a keto nut. Thing about oxalates, I wrote a paper on this, but in no means am I an expert. So oxalates are an insoluble compound that get bound to calcium to form calcium oxalate monohydrate. These can build up in the kidneys and cause stones, but if you drink enough water, most people will be fine. Wanna know why? This compound is also synthesized in your liver, so there's no avoiding it, and most peoples kidneys are efficient at getting rid of them. But to counter her claim on *veggies have oxalates so veggies bad*, they also are formed from improper absorption of fats... so the lack of balance can also lead to oxalate "build up." Also yeah animal products have something plants don't saturated fats. The animal product diet isn't really sustainable long term for most people. Better hope her gallbladder doesn't give out, you need veggies and carbs to give your gallbladder a chance to emulsify and digest these fats or else your digestive system is really in for one and your risk of oxalate "build up" is the same, minus the benefits of fibers, vitamins, and heart healthy nutrients ... idk I'm just a year 3 bio major, but she sounds like the one patient we're cautioned about in each clinical study That's just my 2 cents, if anyone has more experience in the field and I got something wrong, school me please

So they needed a substitute for milk since drinking a warm cup of coffee and unwinding is such a part of the culture in Vietnam. Anyways, off topic..... Ok. She is not wrong about the WATER. The US has a clean water crisis and there is a database that shows what is in your water. I looked into it when a neighboring town released a statement that there was a high amount of radium in their water and that you shouldn't drink their tap water without a reverse osmosis filter. SE Kansas cannot be the only place with dangerous water

I have OCD that has manifested as extreme hypochondria and disordered eating, and I'm really concerned for Tati. I'm not trying to diagnose Tati, but the buzzwords she is dropping are indicative of an unhealthy obsession with food at the very least. Trying to control everything is absolutely a trauma response and what she's been through for the last three years would traumatize anyone. I really hope she learns some healthy coping strategies and finds health and happiness.

The water thing is real though. I used to test water in my state. We would go to different cities and collect samples from people. Then we would run it in a lab to see what was in the water and report it.

I was going to say! I'm canadian and we have lead in the tapwater worse than flint michigan in a ton of municipalities including the one I grew up in. I'm team bottled water but the microplastics things is very very real and yes there are other toxins in water.

Absolutely same for Australia! And much of our water is to be coming from desalination plants soon. And the pure water on the mine sites for them to avoid their workers drinking water that contains contaminated water filled with toxins. The guys on the sites tend to mix electrolyte powders into the water because there's nothing else in that water. Provided the site hasn't organised something else.

From someone who would watch Tati religiously i think her desperation at wanting to have children+drama+law suits+james and her separating for a while= the perfect combination of things happening for religious folks to take advantage of her! Her desperation at having what she once had and trying to obtain something “unobtainable” is making her grasp at anything and everything.

She wasn’t wrong about if your stomach isn’t working right it affects the brain, because your brain needs glucose to function and if you’re not digesting those correctly it does affect the brain. I learned that in emergency medical school.

Honestly, I appreciate that she emphasizes that her diet is due to her own “experiences” and that it’s not for everyone (ALL meAT?! I-💀) & I also sympathize her going through these ~drastic~ changes bc her cancellation kinda ‘made’ her the way she is today… 😔

I agree when she talks about health is really scary and seems like she can’t handle infertility. However, some of her claims are absolutely true. E.g., there is a growing branch of psychology dealing with the influnce of gut health and mental health and peer-reviewed studies have shown that there might be a link between nutrition and mental health. Studies have also shown that keto diet can be beneficial for people with seizures, similar studies are also conducted on people with bipolar. Vitamins like B12 can’t be found in non-animal products, that’s why plant milk is often enriched with it. After a quick google, it seems like the antinutrients in veg are also true. I also remember reading an article about fish becoming less fertile because of hormones from contraceptives found in water.

Unfortunately when she speaks about real alarming things like the ones you mentioned along side pseudo-science it makes people rule everything she says as "cult conspiracy" when much or what she mentions (while she doesn't explain the issues) are really important problems that are rapidly becoming widespread and may have severe impacts on people in the very near future. I hope people actually take her new path ad an opportunity to properly educate themselves on the topics and not write them off completely. And to also come to their own conclusions based on the availabile information and how their body responds to changes in their behaviour. For example diet changing energy levels of a person should be a good thing and something they can and should share with others under the pretence that it's just their body's response which she has. Some people may never have thought to increase the meat intake and decrease other things that may be causing their gut discomfort, which could be due to the fact they've never been exposed to a different diet option other than vegan or vegetarian.

@@savannahrae9122 I agree. Because she sounds so culty and talks about pseudo-science things as well, then the claims which have basis in science are also taken with a grain of salt by people. Especially that these are very very new topics in science.

@@MissimoCat spot in about the new topics, too I'm surrounded by science because of what I study so I get to see these new updates all the time but if science and new studies aren't a common thing in people's lives they wouldn't learn about the new topics quickly and can quickly write them off as BS

B12 comes from a bacteria in DIRT in a super cleanly society meat eaters aren't getting it either so meat is also enriched with it... keto was MEANT for people with seizures to begin with but regular people following it is stupid and deadly... And the link between the gut and the brain is still not studies enough and they aren't drawing conclusions about it. Regular people reviewing studies is problematic and they leap to conclusions way too quickly

She introduces these ideas with absolutely no context or nuance, as if all of them are complete absolutes, and in a way that implies that her diet is the curative. Plus, some of the things you mentioned have caveats, such as "MAY help," or being applicable in animals.

Microplastics actually do impact your hormone levels. I see an endocrinologist because I have problems with my thyroid and he specifically asked me about my plastic usage and recommended that I stop using plastics of any kind because plastics mess with your estrogen levels. I'm vegan and gluten free for health reasons and have had to try so many different diets and medications. I went from vomiting daily, having painful joints and general achiness, and being horribly lethargic while on diets given to me by different doctors, nutritionists, and dieticians to not only being able to function but thriving and feeling healthier than I ever remember

As someone with an intestinal disease, it’s actually hard for my body to process vegetables. ( and I’m vegan right now, because meat is hard for me to digest ) That’s not a shocking fact when it comes to gastrointestinal diseases. And everyone’s diet when it comes to intestinal issues is completely different because everyone’s body can only handle certain things. I’m 22 with intestinal failure and can only handle eating certain items. This video just feels a little judgmental regarding GI issues and not having a full understanding on them. I don’t agree with everything Tati said but like how is she in a cult 😅

I feel that there's a difference between having to subscribe to a way of living because it's the way you have to in order to survive and subscribing to a way of living because you search "purity" or to be free from all impurities Theres nothing wrong with eating the way she does and making those choices, it just seems like a bandaid rather than a real answer to her problems.

@@christinak4082 Some foods do have bad ingredients in them, and many celebrities know this, that's why most gave their own farms. So, they can limit the added chemicals. It's not far fetched at all. When food is fresh it expires quickly. Keep it fresh, its packaged with certain chemicals to be shipped and stored on shelves. It's the cost of mass producing goods. That's why some cou tires only have local farms and people say that's healthier because they dont use all the extra stuff.
