At 10:37 while creating the measure TotalProfit, you said "This is an implicit calculation". Is not that an explicit calculation?

You are correct Sandip, it is definitely an explicit calculation. I made a mistake while recording and unfortunately it skipped my revision process. So, I added this as a comment to the video description. Thank you for drawing this issue to my attention.

Sir when i open .txt files in query and add a new column of profit, the column shows error. when i open the .txt file in query the columns of sales and cogs type is ABC/123, not $ like in your video, and when i add a new coumn of profit it shows Error in all lines and its type is also ABC/123, even when i change the type to $ it shows error. Changing type of other two columns of sales and COGS to $ does the same thing. Please help

My first guessing is that you mistyped the Number.Round function ► It is Case sensitive

Can you access the list of Managers without having to create/bring a data model pivot table to the spreadsheet? I know I can hide the list but or put it in another sheet and hide the sheet all together, but I'm all about efficiency , real estate and speed. Also, I would use INDEX or XLOOKUP to create references instead of OFFSET since it's a volatile function. Furthermore, you could just do a data model pivot table with the list of names and profits and use slicers for Manager name selection

Sal, thank you for the interaction. To create the drop list I do not necessary need the pivot table (It's just one option). However with large number of records (millions) a Data Model is the best solution. I would also like to emphasize that the focus of this tutorial is the interactivity between a Drop list and a Data Model using the Cubevalue function. Finally, despite the lots of talks about the volatility of the Offset, I find it more a "Theoretical" issue rather than a real impact, I am a fan of it... but as you said there are always other ways to do things. Thanks again
@Sal_A

@@Officeinstructor I agree a Data Model is the best solution for large data sets. I was just saying you can create a data model pivot table with the list of Managers and Profits without having to use a a regular drop down list and Cube functions as an alternative, which is easier. OFFSET is a volatile function and does make a significant impact on performance on large data sets. Your workbook becomes very slow. You can use Charles Williams tool to calculate the speed of formulas. On smaller data it's minimal but I like to avoid it at all cost if possible. Thank you :)
