The untold story of a lost branch of my Gashagortzian ancestors that suffered through the Armenian Genocide of 1915. This video is not perfect, but I hope it honors those who were lost and helps to keep their memories alive.
The video details how the Gashagortzian family from the Bitlis province of the Ottoman Empire was fractured during the Armenian Genocide.
It also tells a portion of my great grandmother's story, Victoria Gashagortzian, who my daughter is named after. I hope this video helps my daughter to remember her ancestors and keep them in her memory.

I have been fortunate that my ancestors passed on a wealth of documentation, photographs, film, and artifacts from their lives that are like breadcrumbs left for us to piece together their stories. I plan to honor each branch of my ancestors with a similar homemade documentary in the coming months.
