Cupid's Poisoned Arrow makes total sense. In a new relationship the woman doesnt have an orgasm and the man keeps having these orgasms....the man will produce a chemical that makes you think your done where your at and you need to pro create somewhere else. This usually happens when the woman is in the early twenties when she is still in her head.

Great video. Really helpful. Getting this information out there is really key because there's so much mainstream pressure for porn, that it is challenging to introduce this concept to new relationships. Porn is so mainstream among high school kids I know. And I heard there are a few colleges with classes that incorporate porn. Seems that only encourages its consumption and mainstream acceptance as normal and good. Like Marnia said, it's so unfortunate to hear scientists ignore this information. But nofap does seem to be growing. Your videos have an impact on awareness.

I have an other question. If orgasm is not the goal and preferably does not happen, then when do you stop? When one says "ok, I got enough, now leave me alone!"? Or you both fall asleep? :)

Hi, I'm french (from Canada) so please excuse my english. I'm doing tantra and didn't have an orgasm for almost one year. It makes me a lot more joyfull and lifted up, I clearly recommand it. It takes training to know when to stop. You can try different things... and anyway at start the challenge will mostly be : to not have an orgasm. The timing comes after. More I do it, closer I can get of the orgasm and I can almost have an orgasm. Sometimes I even think I had one ... but it's only when I really have an orgasm that I'm able to see the difference. And then I know I was okay before, because this time you feel very very different, completly drained out and down.

Hi Derek, it's really interesting stuff. I haven't read the book yet but I am gonna for sure. One thing seems to be a bit controversial though. On one hand it is said that orgasm cause dopamine spike which screws up whatever in the brain and you need weeks to recover. On the other hand people are getting into more karezza like sex, but according to my experience that also comes with a lot of pleasure and I doubt there is no elevated dopamine levels during that time. Doesn't that cause the same effect? Is this the spiky vs. gradual dopamine release what makes the difference? Is it like the blood sugar level when juicing vs eating whole food :) ?

I read that women release oxytocin during a climax which would make them more susceptible to wanting to cuddle or get closer to their partners, however likewise, when I've peaked I want to get away from everyone and everything disgusts me. The catch is that during arousal or sexual stimulation I don't feel this way at all

This is really interesting. I had come to the conclusion several years ago that most people can have long term relationships, but not lifelong partnerships, one of the major reasons being that we are not meant to be sexually monogamous. I still think we're not naturally monogamous, but its perfectly fine to practice monogamy. Do what works for you and your partner. I dont think we should expect everyone to be monogamous, polyamorous, or anything in between. The more info. we have about biology and psychology, the better. But I think people still expect themselves and others to be monogamous for the most part, and we need more open-mindedness about this. Theres a great book called Sex at Dawn about human sexuality. Id be interested in your thoughts on all this.

I rate your statement half true. Men are not biologically driven to manogamy but women ARE. The biological imperative for the male is to spread his seed, the biological imperative for the woman is to nest.....

This is my second comment on KZitem ever, I know I am late but not here for attention but just had to comment about this. These guys : Marnia Robinson and Doctor Gary Wilson , they are the real couple goals (not the unrealistic shit you see on social media etc.) (excuse my profanity but I need to get the anger out here) I mean this is what it should be like, not just fucking sex all the fucking time portrayed by the fucking media. They have made women into such a sexual object and (only 2 weeks in personally) no fap just completely changes your perspective on that. Great interview man, I enjoyed it thoroughly and props to this couple, they deserve a standing ovation and salute rn.

When Marnia Robinson refers to this spike and then 2 week drop, what does she recommend? Meditation increases dopamine. Going on a roller coaster ride increases my dopamine. Eating food increases my dopamine. Should I abstain from these things too, so that I don't get a dopamine crash, or is it only orgasm specifically which leads to this crash? Is it orgasm, or all pleasurable experiences in general?

Joseph Gregory good question
@ViolentVegan
9 жыл бұрын
Joseph Gregory A lot of Eastern practices warn against huge highs and advise moderation and balance for the reasons you give but I'm not sure that the dopamine dip caused by orgasm is specifically related to the spike... Marina's theory is that the dopamine crash is the evolution's way of making a man effectively lose interest in his current sexual partner (and I think also the other way around) and go find somebody new - if that makes sense.. to spread his seed as wide as possible. Personally I think that the male body is punished by the creation of semen and sperm far more than we realize. I used to do a lot of martial arts and every single discipline I know advises moderation in spelling the seed.
@Apollo440

Joseph, if you take another rollercoaster or if you choose other forms of meditation - the previous rollercoaster or meditation won't give you a hard time or divorce you. On the other hand having sex with another partner makes you dislike the partner you're with (or yourself if it is masturbation) and look for another. This has more social consequences than what you've brought up. So yes, limiting orgasm with yourself or your partner is what the author recommends. About the other part - fast food, blockbuster movies and entertaining and drug like modern music - that's what you should think about quitting. They give the same orgasmic effect and by having some time of abstinence from these things you get to eat healthy and enjoy it (which is impossible while having fast food even once a week), you get to watch informative lectures instead of fast paces kill-sex-laugh-kill-sex movies and value silence or sounds of nature (or jazz or classical music) instead of catchy beats and lyrics. So eye candy is a no-no if you want to get to another level, but if you get to bungee jumping or base jumping after trying all rollercoasters - better give that up to in favor of yoga or just nature walks/hikes.
