From Iman to Naomi: The Black Model Through The Ages - The history of black models in the fashion industry is rich, complex, nuanced, and in constant evolution. From their early exclusion and limited opportunities to their current success and influence in magazines and on the runway, black models have faced and overcome significant barriers in the pursuit of equal representation. In this video, we’ll examine key milestones, challenges, and successes achieved by black women in the fashion industry, highlighting the contributions of trailblazers such as Dorothea Towles, Iman, Naomi Campbell, Tyra Banks, and many others.
