It is all about Tasdeek after you believe that Allah is one. Az-Zumar : 33 "And the one who has brought the truth [i.e., the Prophet (ﷺ)] and [they who] believed in it - those are the righteous." Compare all religious creeds of the world. Pick one creed or core belief that makes the most sense (Islam). Then activate Tasdeek (trustfulness) - After all, Islam means to surrender everything to Allah, including surrendering to his will and decisions. Otherwise, disbelief is the only option left. Unfortunately, disbelieve doesn't offer an alternative to the afterlife questions, it only sets you up for a constant state of doubt. It is still 50/50 once we die. According to the agnostic or even an atheist, there could still be a God, and our meeting with him is still scheduled whether we like it or not - regardless of our conclusion about his existence. Again, all mental and logical gymnastics aside, it is 50/50 for the agnostic, the atheist, and even the religious (without Tasdeek). With Tasdeek, however, it is 110% Allah exists and we will all meet him after our very tinny and short life. I know, I didn’t rationalize with you about eternity in hell, god’s justice, and all those arguments. But to be honest with you, I’m a slave and a powerless being. I came to this world without my choice. I didn’t pick my parents, my looks, nor will I pick the time of my death and all those small things thrown at me. So, for that reason, I know my status as a weak created being, and I will not pretend to be free. I promise you, that Tasdeek is the answer to all your doubts. With it, you’ll enter heaven on earth, before death, and if that is alone a reward, it is indeed plenty and abundantly sufficient. And, for the sake of argument, no worries if there is no god afterlife. Doubts = Uncertainty = Angst Taskeek = Certainty = Ecstatic inner happiness + eternal heaven (as a bonus)

*Just as bigotry can blind emotionally, ideology can blind intellectually* In today’s social justice ethos, if someone makes a racist or sexist statement, they are called out immediately. Prejudices of any kind are frowned upon. Usually, bigoted people are seen to be blinded by their emotions. However, emotions aren’t the sole cause of prejudices. Even the intellect, which is normally meant to regulate our emotions and balance our perceptions, can blind us. Such intellectual blinding happens through ideology, specifically, through ideological obsessions. When we buy into an ideology, we see the whole world filtered through that ideology. Rather than using the ideology as a tool to make better sense of the world, we reduce the world to that ideology. Whatever doesn’t make sense within that ideology’s framework is neglected or rejected. Or it is explained away through various rationalizations, arguments used to arrive at self-serving conclusions that are often irrational. The Bhagavad-gita (18.22) deems such ideological obsession as knowledge in the mode of ignorance, wherein all of reality is reduced to a fragment. Thus, for example, people driven by leftist ideologies presume that anyone wealthy or powerful has become so by exploiting others. They don’t consider the role of talent and commitment in fostering success. When they reduce the world to a struggle between exploiters and exploited, they become blinded to the many common causes for which the poor and wealthy can work synergistically. And such blinding is itself ideology-blind; just as leftist ideologies can blind, so can rightist ideologies. Doesn’t the Gita also offer an ideology? Not exactly. The Gita offers spirituality and a philosophy that delineates the pathway for spiritualizing our consciousness. When our consciousness is thus raised above both emotional and intellectual blinders, we can then see things as they are. And seeing everyone as essentially spiritual beings is the best way to overcome bigotry. Think it over: How does ideology blind intellectually? Do you know anyone who is ideologically blinded? Might you yourself be similarly blinded? How is Gita wisdom different from an ideology? *** 18.22 And that knowledge by which one is attached to one kind of work as the all in all, without knowledge of the truth, and which is very meager, is said to be in the mode of darkness.

Quran tells you not to hate the non-believers and tells you to not force them to religion (2: 256 and chapter kafirun). The only proof of Islam are the scientific miracles of the Qur'an. It is a book of Signs, 6000 verses of which more than 1000 speak about science. Not 1 is proven to be false. 1. “And you see the mountains, thinking them rigid, while they will pass as the passing of clouds. [It is] the work of Allah, who perfected all things. Indeed, He is Acquainted with that which you do”. Quran 27:88 If you read this verse carefully you will learn things: The Quran knows that the earth is rotating. And that the earth is round. On a stationary flat earth module, you don’t have rotation and by that you don’t have a flat earth. Reminder: this was written 1400 years ago, where people only believed in what their naked eyes could see. 2. And the Heaven We constructed with strength, and indeed, We are expanding it. (51:47) - Recently discovered continuous EXPANSION of the Universe. The expansion being faster than the Speed of light and a mystery to science makes this sign my favorite proven sign yet. 3. Have We not made the earth as a bed, and the mountains as pegs? (Qur'an, 78:6-7) Newly its scientifically proven that mountains have deep roots to stabilize the earth just like tent pegs. Visually and functionally. 4. Have not those who disbelieved known that the heavens and the earth were one connected entity, then We separated them?... (Qur'an, 21:30) it's the Big bang that scientist talked about in recent times. 5. No! If he does not stop, We will take him by the naseyah (front of the head), a lying, sinful naseyah (front of the head)! (Qur'an, 96:15-16) -Scary how the Qur'an called a man's forehead “lying” 1400 years ago. It's recently discovered that the Prefrontal lobe which is exactly at the front of the head, that is responsible for lying and deceptiveness. 6. He has set free the two seas meeting together. There is a barrier between them. They do not transgress. (Qur'an, 55:19-20) - Newly discovered invisible BARRIER that separates 2 kinds of seas, one is salty, one is sweet and palatable. 7. Or (the unbelievers’ state) is like the darkness in a deep sea. It is covered by waves, above which are waves, above which are clouds. Darkness, one above another. If a man stretches out his hand, he cannot see it.... (Qur'an, 24:40) - The holy Qur'an is giving signs about the newly discovered deep (Internal) waves of the sea. Not only there is Surface waves but deep invisible ones that 1400 years ago only its creator knew of. Another Coincidence? no. Many more are there. The Qur'an even talked about Atoms (indivisible) and small particles 1400 years ago, where people were dying of tooth pain (suicide / infection) and childbirth. He mentioned: 8. But those who disbelieve say, “The Hour will not come to us.” Say, “Yes, by my Lord, it will surely come to you. [Allah is] the Knower of the unseen.” Not absent from Him is an atom’s weight within the heavens or within the earth or [what is] smaller than that or greater, except that it is in a clear register. Surah Saba 34:3 “smaller than” (Quarks and whats inside). All of this must have a designer and it doesn’t come by coincidence. We have created everything by measure. Quran 54:49 8. b. Indeed, Allah does not do injustice, [even] as much as an atom's weight; while if there is a good deed, He multiplies it and gives from Himself a great reward. Al- Nisa . Verse 40 9. Quran 39:5: He created the heavens and earth in truth. He wraps the night over the day and wraps the day over the night and has subjected the sun and the moon, each running [its course] for a specified term. Unquestionably, He is the Exalted in Might, the Perpetual Forgiver. The word used for “wrapping around” is kawer. Kawer in Arabic means “making into a ball” or wrapping around a round object. People also use kawer when they wrap a turban around their head. I couldn’t possibly count all sigs of the Quran here. it has 6000+ verses and almost every verse is a miracle of writing. My favorite 4 things i remember are these: 1. There are many „Easter Eggs“ in the Quran. Palindromes of key verses or verses that correlate beautifully with each other. See miracle of aye el kursi (throne verse) on youtube. The word “Day” mentioned 365 times in the Quran (Solar year), Speed of light is given accurately in the Quran, the word “female” and “male” mentioned 23 times. 23 is the number of chromosomes of each gender. Coincidence, right? 2. The Quran has many "challenge verses" the most famous is: “And if you are in doubt about what We have sent down upon Our Servant [Muhammad], then produce a surah (chapter) the like thereof and call upon your witnesses other than Allah, if you should be truthful”. “But if you do not - and you will never be able to - then fear the Fire, whose fuel is men and stones, prepared for the disbelievers”. Quranic chapters can be as short as 10 words. no one could ever bring something the like of the Quran. many have tried and all of them failed miserably. 3. The precision of the Quran is mindboggling. Chapter 4:82 “Then do they not reflect upon the Qur'an? If it had been from [any] other than Allah, they would have found within it much contradiction”. The bible for example, has many proven mistakes, contradictions, mathematical errors and even pornography. No human had ever proven something wrong from the many facts stated in the Quran. Example for "Godly" precision is: the word "spider" in Arabic is "Ankabout". it is 100% male when said so. and you give it the "He" treatment. Allah mentions the spider few times and calls it "He" also. BUT the one time, God said "She" to the "Ankabout", he was referring to the Spiders house ("her house"). Now its scientifically proven that every spider type on earth (small, big, from Africa from America, doesn’t matter) Only the female of which builds houses. 4. Iron miracle: There is an entire chapter in the Quran which is named Iron. This shows how important Iron is to mankind, way more important than gold. it is essential for today’s Industry. God said in the beginning of the chapter: "And We sent down Iron" So why did God use the word "sent down" rather than one of his favorite words "Created". Iron was sent down after the formation of the original earth, from Space in the form of meteorites, so it gets buried underground for us to use when we are advanced enough to mine it, because of that "sent down" is more accurate. After tons of research I found out that the rules in the Quran actually make a lot of sense. No weird rules. No inhumane things. No Jihad wars. And many of what you know about Islam is probably arabic tradition and not Gods words (Quran). Fun fact only 20% of Muslims are Arabs. God chose Arabic because it was a very advanced language at that time and the prophet was arabic as well. Most muslims according to their Quran are non-Muslims and about 2% of all muslims are real ones. Quran chapter 2 verse 8 to 9: 8. Among the people are those who say, “We believe in God and in the Last Day,” but they are not believers. 9. They seek to deceive God and those who believe, but they deceive none but themselves, though they are not aware. Ask anything u want.

@@AliMohammed-ez6nt If you define a 'true believer' as someone who never leaves a belief, then, of course, he isn't. But that is a ridiculous argument as that is not what is meant by true belief. Doubt happens. It's understandable, since Iman is to be dynamic - sometimes it goes up, other times it goes down. The thing that helps is having a strong yaqeen (conviction).* It is because of this that one must differentiate between emotional and rational doubt. When you sort the doubts of the second sort (rational doubts) by yourself, doubts of the first sort will get away too, God willing. Here's a very interesting video on doubt in faith, I would recommend: Psychology of Doubt - Zohair Abdul-Rahman | Firm Roots *Being a Muslim is very easy, it all boils down to two basic propositions - (1) that God *is*, and (2) that Muhammad is the prophet of God. Keep that in mind always.

Islam is not just about believing in one God (Monotheism) tho it is it's main foundation. It's also by believing on it's main role model for Humanity, The Prophet Muhammad. The Ideal man, The Eternal Guide. There is much more to learn about the Prophet Muhammad's lifetime, Not just on how Mainstream Islamists (who are often biased) show to you but you have to mainly discover it yourself too to clarify things. I also have a similar story. The more and more I’ve read the Quran, Tafsir and Islamic literature on Muhammad’s life (Sira and authentic Hadith) with an open mind, the more it pushes me further away from Islam. The Quran on numerous occasions makes the claim that the Quran is the clear word of God (Haqq) but yet it always makes me question as to why God the All-wise must use blatant dehumanisation to get this word across either through humiliation conditions set alongside the Jizya tax (Pact of Umar) and to make it worse the concept of ‘Abrogation’ caused me to doubt as to why God deliberately changed his attitude towards the non-Muslims from peaceful words when Muhammad was weak in number then became incredibly violent when Muhammad gained the upper hand. It feels way too coincidental and almost man-made to fit a certain circumstance not for eternity (until day of judgement).
@user-ui9xs6tw2k
4 ай бұрын
And the final straw for me was when I see Muslims desperately defending evil part of Muhammad’s life which is also mentioned in the Quran the one that I find absolutely indefensible is taking married women as sex slaves (what your right hand possesses - An-Nisa :24) the most infamous example is Suffiyah bint Huyayy who Muhammad spent the night with on the same day as his companions executed all the men (including those who just hit puberty and had no part in the breaking the treaty that Muhammad had with Banu-Qurayza) and taking the children and women as slaves during the day. If Muslims received the same punishment they wouldn’t be defending this as much as they are.

I ultimately came to the conclusion that God All-mighty is far greater than what Quran says and surely is much wiser to simply torture someone for eternity especially knowing that most humans have strong biases towards their birth-faith. He was tested by God and failed. Should God be scared of that this guy would leave Islam, so God is forced to answer his prayers? God knows the future and he saw this guy failing and turning against him.

Leaving a religion is like an escape room challenge. If you can solve the riddles of the apologists, you can leave. In reality, you do not need to solve anything because the doors were never really locked. Just walk out and enjoy life…at least the part that remains and wasn’t wasted in the room.

I never thought about the first 3 stages of faith loss before cause I guess they all happened during my childhood that I was mainly stuck in the reform stage for most of my life. But man when stage 4 hits it hits hard. I'm so happy to see older exmuslims who have already gone through all of this and are still here. It gives me hope :)

Hi Hassan, Thank you so much for your videos and thoughts. Regarding the stages of loss of faith, as a recent ex-muslim, I think I started off with denial, then regret. I am currently feeling intense anger, at myself for having been so gullible and following religion until I was 29, at my family and community for having fostered religion and continuing to believe in it without using resources so freely available to question their beliefs. It makes it so hard for me to even pretend to pray (I'm still in the closet). Hopefully I feel acceptance soon.. ❤

He was tested by God and failed. Should God be scared of that this guy would leave Islam, so God is forced to answer his prayers? God knows the future and he saw this guy failing and turning against him. 2. Actually you're not to be compelled by Hitchens or Dawkins if you're already religious but only when you're at a stage where you think you're already pretty much leaning toward atheism. So in a way, folks like Radwan are a gateway to atheists. Hitchens is not going to provide the listener with consessions and commiserations that an ex-muslim like Hassan Radwan would, in exchange for the listener to grant credence or invite the possibility of their ideas. And tbh I never found Dawkins very compelling but I cannot say the same about Hitchens

Hassan, I'd like to thank you for how much you've helped me during times of spiritual turmoil. The problem of hell has bothered me since I was a 6-year-old at madrasah. Even now, after having renounced belief in eternal hellfire, I find myself worrying about it for days on end. Although an agnostic (albeit of theistic inclination), I pray to God for guidance and mercy throughout the day and (often tearfully) before going to bed. I try to keep the thoughts at bay, telling myself that an all-merciful God wouldn't punish sincere unbelief. Yet am I truly sincere? Perhaps I am deaf, dumb, and blind to the truth. At times, I imagine what it would be like standing before the Lord of the universe as he sentences you to an eternity of unfathomable torture. The thought induces anxiety like no other. And yet so many believers are somehow unphased. I've heard all the apologetics: "You send yourself to hell!", "Eternal punishment for failing to recognize an eternal Lord!", "Had they lived forever, they would have continued disbelieving forever!", "The wisdom of God is beyond us." It's like none of these apologists ever sit back and internalize the implications of eternal torture. ETERNAL. Think of how long a year is. Now think of how long one trillion (10^12) years is. One trillion years of torture is still infinitesimally small compared to eternity. Hitler, the Pharaoh, Abu Lahab, 'Amr ibn Luhayy--who deserves this? I digress... Your videos have been my refuge whenever these bouts of hadeophobia strike. It's so comforting knowing that someone with so many more years of cumulated wisdom speaks my thoughts. Of course, your British accent and therapeutic way of speaking add to that. You also acknowledge the importance of being spiritually fulfilled, something which hardcore ex-believers frequently dismiss as irrational. I agree completely. Maybe it's just a symptom of religious hangover, but I believe in some sort of divinity. It's incredibly refreshing finding a kindred spirit in the gray area between hardcore believer and hardcore atheist/ex-believer. Its always nice lying down, closing my eyes, forgetting my worries for a moment, and letting one of good ole Uncle Hassan's videos play. Anyways, I've gone on far too long. Keep doing what you do. May Allah reward you in this life and the next :). PS: I'm sure you'll be a great grandfather.

It might make it easier for people to say they are spiritual but not religious. People in your situation or similar situations can go on to a site with others & read their favorite passages from the: Koran, Bible etc. & share with others what it means to them. This can still give them a sense of belonging. Something like this can be done a million different ways & its the least we non Muslims can do for you!

The ones who establish prayer, and from what We have provided them, they spend. Those are the believers, truly. For them are degrees [of high position] with their Lord and forgiveness and noble provision." I read the Quran and it took 2 pages for me to know its the truth from my lord. He promised to guide those (make them believe without a real reason) who are not arrogant and who are good (in their hearts) just read the Quran. I found happiness and satisfaction with my life, and if my God is happy with me, i have nothing to fear or worry about.

Yes as Hassan said bravo to you Noman for being accepting of ex muslim but please dont underestimate the prodigious amount of critical thinking put into that video. The question Hassan asked of himself you Noman have a intellectual responsibility to ask of yourself too. So is there anything remotely merciful in torturing someone FOR ETERNITY for the crime of not believing as a result of accidental birth god engineered? That is enough to knock the sand castle of your faith Noman. Deep down I know you know it. Take care buddy.

I am completely astonished by this video, and the way it was delivered. I am sure it took you a lot of courage to come by the decisions you made for yourself, especially after a long time of believing in something you got so used to. Stepping, finally, out of the box and into the light at the end of the tunnel surely feels like a weight lifted off your chest. Thank you for this!

I don't normally watch videos of this length, but I made an exception for this and I'm glad I did. I enjoyed it very much. I love the biographical dimension to the story. It's not just a catalogue of abstract arguments against religion. There's also a gripping life story being told, a personal narrative being unfolded. The testimony works on two levels: going from Islam to atheism, and from a part English heritage to an Islamic one and then back again. There's a book in this. I find it interesting that you, a former Sunni, should have been enthused by a Shia revolution in Iran when you were younger. It speaks to a less sectarian age where Sunni-Shia relations were not so poisonous as they are now. Perhaps you can talk about that some time in a separate video. And perhaps you can talk about how your mother coped with her conversion to Islam, and what, if any, differences there are between converts back then and converts now. I like also that your critique of Islam acknowledges the positive aspects of it as a bridge building exercise to convince Muslims you understand what makes the religion appealing to them, in particular the Quran verses you read in a respectful tone. That's pretty unique for a murtad. All successful religions offer some benefits to their followers - otherwise they would not build a mass following, and that psychological element should be acknowledged. I think such gracious acknowledgments are tactically useful so long as it doesn't condemn other critics of Islam who focus only on pointing out the harm it does, which is what too often happens frankly. Anyway, great video. The Arabic subtitles are much needed. I'm sure it was painstaking work. Well, it's not gone unnoticed! Finally, you have a rich soothing voice that's pleasant to listen to. I subbed a few days ago. Min al-Islam illal laa deeniyah indeed.

Many conservative atheists exist. And many agnostics (not atheists), who are still conserving some traditions, really exist. Haven't you ever seen cultural hindus, cultural jews cultural christians. ..etc? Why do you think atheists are liberals and marxists? Its nothing to do with such isms. Its particular choice. Atheism and agnostism are just concepts on existance of god. Atheists fully reject the existance of gods and agnostics doubt the miracle of gods. Nothing more.

I've first heard the phrase "Islam is the fastest growing religion" in 2013-14 maybe. But then, people didn't leave their religion that much as they are leaving now. Not to mention the massive growth of Christianity in China, Vietnam, north Korea, south Korea, Singapore etc. So even after all these years, is Islam any longer the fastest growing religion?

The widespread meme that "Islam is the fastest growing religion" is debunked in the recent video below with statistics and data: kzitem.info/news/bejne/taKa26OJqp2YiWk The Pew Research Center published a study showing that 23% of American Muslims have left Islam as well. The video above cites other figures that say the number is 30%. Incredibly it also has many clips from well known Islamic preachers like Mufti Menk saying that Islam has the highest rate of apostasy of any religion.

@@timeisfleeting2452 About a quarter of adults who were raised Muslim (23%) no longer identify as members of the faith, roughly on par with the share of Americans who were raised Christian and no longer identify with Christianity (22%), according to a new analysis of the 2014 Religious Landscape Study. But while the share of American Muslim adults who are converts to Islam also is about one-quarter (23%), a much smaller share of current Christians (6%) are converts. In other words, Christianity as a whole loses more people than it gains from religious switching (conversions in both directions) in the U.S., while the net effect on Islam in America is a wash.

Proof in the Quran that this guy was not a true believer. Non-true believers: "And of the people is he who worships Allah on an edge. If he is touched by good, he is reassured by it; but if he is struck by trial, he turns on his face [to the other direction]. He has lost [this] world and the Hereafter. That is what the manifest loss is.} [Quran 22: 11] True believers attitude in 2:156 "Who, when afflicted with calamity, say: ‘Truly, to Allah we belong and truly, to Him we shall return" This book is VERY clear on its rules. If he was a real muslim, he would of knowen the rules mentioned in his Book. That his God knows the future, and that he warned us of not losing hope in him if something bad happens. The first time I heard about "the eternal challenge", I wondered why wasn't THIS one the first revelation, instead of failing again and again and again with the previous prophets. Then came a blunt realization about the act of challenging your rivals: why would a mighty god behave as an alpha mammal male?? That betrayed its origin...

I agree. That was the first thing I thought of, too. I would think that God would get it right the first time. Additionally, if it is the original text given, why isn't there any record of it? Even a partial record of a few verses will do, but no such thing.

Similar journey, but I got caught up in the New Age movement founded upon Blavatsky's Theosophy which is a very benevolent, inclusive belief system compared to Islam. This is based upon the idea of everyone reincarnating to learn from their experiences on Earth, and is a synthesis of Christianity and Buddhism mainly. Again, its scientific claims contradicted science: the claim of a planet Vulcan responsible for the anomalous precession of the perihelion of Mercury contradicting General relativity. John Keely was paraded as ushering in a new age of science but was exposed as a fraud by the press. Blavatsky was also exposed as a fraud which I refused to believe when I first read about it. What gives meaning to my life is this biological process called life we're all born into and deciding how I will participate in it. The possibilities are vast despite our biological limitations.
