denoise doesn't seem to work for me. I'm getting the known issue "We have received reports that onnxruntime might cause issues on certain Windows 10 systems ("ImportError: DLL load failed while importing onnxruntime_pybind11_state")" Guess I'm just one of the lucky ones. No worries. I'll figure it out sooner or later.

This is best to use on a freshly stacked Siril FIT file before any processing such as Siril’s own background extraction, color calibratio etc, things you do before you stretch? Any type of sharpening has to be performed outside of Siril? Is the denoising more evident on stacks that don’t have any dither applied vs a dithered stack? I don’t dither yet as I’m still trying to figure out PHD2 guiding. Thanks.

OK have now tried this on some Hickson Galaxies but i notice that the DeN version has more colour contrasting across the background even if smoother vs the original and this gets stretched later in the process. I will say that the DeN version “brightens” the faint galaxies. Just wondering whether the background colouring is worth the hassle vs the denoise as i still have to take this out later?

Thanks Rich ! Great video and super helpful. I just started working on the Whirlpool and the initial GraXpert run is quite impressive and look forward to further processing in Siril. So my first question is: after I do the background extraction and denoise in GraXpert, then when I take that version into Siril, then I completely skip those same steps in Siril? So no further background extraction in Siril and I can jump straight to Photometric Color Calibration? Second question is: prior to Deconvolution in Siril, you recommended to use the Image Denoising step... so I can skip that part too? I don't want to over-process or anything like that, so any advice would be appreciated. Thanks Rich.

I think this is just the difference between the AutoStretch levels of GraXpert and Siril. They look comparable if you leave GraXpert at a 30% AutoStretch view. Just do your color calibration and SCNR in Siril as usual, set the display view to Linear, and do your stretching. You should be good at that point. If not, then let me know.
