Great video. Gotta say I was shocked that it’s $159 new. $60 more than a new 57 ain’t bad at all. Thanks for sharing.

Yeah. I’m buying a couple more to have around. They are solid.

David is an acquaintance and Dusty Wakeman is a good friend. I got to check out the MA-D ahead of release, and let me tell you, this mic is incredible. I’m glad you think so too. My mind was blown.

Gosh - I just love the sound of live drums... All my production is done with sequencing. I'm good at "humanizing" but it just isn't the same when you don't get the bleed, the room sound and the overheads. I have a good VST set with overheads (which I actually haven't yet set up). Live playing... you just can't beat it. All the nuances not only of spacer and acoustics but the esoteric possibilities of energy and telekinetics being recorded in the sound as well just can't be beat by digital production.

WOW those vocals in the first example sound like they were recorded on a nice condenser 🤯

It's pretty easy, actually. Have you ever tried it yourself? If you have an SM58 (or a 57 for instruments) lying around, put it through some digital gain-staging with a bit of compression and a noise gate - you'll get a good sound.

great sounding mic! I love the Lewitt MTP 440DM (great name). But it sounds great on a lot and has a very nice controlled top end and great mids

I got this as soon as it came out and in an untreated room, it still picked up too much room echoes for me. I kept it as I really liked how my voice sounded, but I will probably try out a LS-308 as well.

I would love to hear some high gain guitar through that mic. It is so hard to find a different sound for that kind of guitar.

Have you tried an Se Electronics v7? Seems close to that in comparison to a sm57.

I’d love to know how it compares to shure’s ksm9 on vocals

We use the ksm9s all the time at church live. These feel more responsive and flatter. The ksm9s don’t seem to work with every voice. Especially female. And you can buy almost 5 of these for one ksm9 capsule ( not including a body)

The title confusing because ribbons ARE dynamic microphones. I think you mean Moving coil dynamic microphone. Sorry... i'm a nerd.

It’s a cool mic but I agree, a SM7 works well for me as well.
