@@kiaravincent4638 I would add call and response type of vocals to get people dancing (etc. like up down, up down. To the left, to the right..). I’d recommend lilc4, Dj lilman, Dj taj, and 93rd stuff to name a few. Once you find those producers/Dj’s a lot more will show up.

This is giving cultural appreciation vibes being a real jersey club producer- jersey club originated in Baltimore. And you need a real club head to send you a kick this is a Drake kick which isn’t jersey club breed it was copied but there is only 4 real kicks that you must be in the community to get ✅

Yeah I actually used the arrangement in that track as a guide, since I just learned this genre was a thing and wasn't 100% sure how to structure the beat. The main difference in my beat VS Sticky would be the Jazz influenced chords and the fact that I use 5 chords in my progression whereas Sticky just alternates between 2 chords.

Well done! Love the juxtaposition of chill instrumental against jersey club kicks As someone who's been producing in this genre for a few years now, I think it's important to note that simply having the jersey kick pattern _does not_ automatically make it a jersey club track. I'm thinking of some of that "kawaii" future bass from 2014/2015 where some producers incorporated the kick pattern and tried to claim it as "jersey club" tracks. The origins of jersey club are worth looking into for anyone interested! Derives from Baltimore club music that came before it in the early 2000s (The aforementioned Dikkontrol track, for example). DJ Tameil and the late Tim Dolla (RIP) got the blessings from Baltimore club pioneers and pioneered their take on it as Jersey Club music. Started the iconic Brick Bandits collective and many other collectives in jersey emerged from that. As of 2022, the genre is basically two or three generations deep. A few notable producers to check out: UNIIQU3 (jersey club queen), DJ Sliink, R3LL, Nadus _(Other than Tameil, those 4 are responsible for taking jersey club outside of the states and making it heard internationally by getting on indie labels & going on tours, whereas most jersey artists solely kept it in the state)_ DJ Tray, Jayhood, DJ T Marq, and DJ Taj Jersey Club music goes hand in hand with dancing as well. So many Jersey natives who are dancers and in dance groups created dances to go along with a lot of the popular tracks throughout the years. At any Jersey show, you'll always see a circle formed where dancers and clubgoers will partake. At teh end of the day, Jersey Club isn't just another genre, it's a community that came from the culture. Black culture!

Yeah, I think I read something about that when I was doing research. Everyone refers to it as Jersey Club or Jersey Drill though. If you're looking for info on the sound that's most likely the search term you'll need to use. John Newlands was the first person to arrange the elements into a periodic table, but Dmitri Mendeleev is credited as creating the periodic table mostly because his model left gaps that predicted the existence of elements yet to be discovered. The moral of the story: the original creators of an idea don't always end up getting credit
@JRent506
2 жыл бұрын
iirc tapp was a Baltimore based artist, and i mentioned that the entire kick pattern in Jersey drill is derived from a tapp track from '93. I'd have to dig into it more, but i think Jersey ended up getting all the credit because their style included heavy sample chopping which lead to a ton of remixes and caused it to go viral. Much like Mendeleev left gaps in his periodic table, Jersey Club producers left gaps in their samples.
